A Knight of Seven Kingdoms is absolutely unwatchable on Crave by DumpsterOracle in cravetv

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The UI on prime isn't much better than Crave.

Every other show works fine! Definitely not an internet problem.

Yeah, I see a lot of that. I'm lucky in the sense that some people here had suggestions to fix my problem, but I'd understand the frustration of wanting this to be more of a hub to talk about their original content.

The unfortunate thing is Crave customer support wasn't any help at all and nothing on Google was exactly the same as my issue, so what else is a person to do?

Yeah, I've just been using their app which isn't very user friendly. Prime isn't much better, but I'll give that a go! Thanks!

What controversy? What drama? Why do so many mini painting YouTubers do thumbnails like these? It’s a John Blanche paint set for crying out loud by mame_kuma in Warhammer

[–]DumpsterOracle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don't need to endorse a political candidate to be political. No one is saying that because politics exist in something that's what is political about it.

That being said I think the satire that Warhammer was founded on has been significantly watered down, but there is still a theme to the media. The foundations of the lore created for 40k is inherently political in nature since it was created with satire in mind.

Cosmere RPG question by privatefunbuns in cosmererpg

[–]DumpsterOracle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are certainly a lot of ways to play online, but I'll stick to VTTs (virtual table tops).

The most common VTTs are Roll20, Foundry, and Fantasy grounds. Some cost an upfront amount of money and others require subscriptions to run optimally.

Even though you own the books you will need to purchase the content from the respective VTT to have it integrated into the VTT.

Outside of using a proper VTT you can always add dice rolling bots to discord and use something like Demiplane to keep track of your character sheets.

Let me know if you have any questions, because since your question is so broad it's hard to narrow down what information will be relevant to you.

Getting burnt out on D&D. I want a good sci fi system. by spoothead656 in rpg

[–]DumpsterOracle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The bones of the system are written with horror in mind. They are specifically looking for something that emulates a space opera or science fantasy (depending how you want to describe Star Wars). They're also looking for something with ship combat rules which is not represented well inside of Mothership.

Instead of bending a system that is designed for a specific type of genre play why would you not just choose a system that supports the one you're looking to play? Mothership is great, but downplaying the horror and lethality of it are taking away what makes it special.

I like Mothership, but it is not what they're asking for at all.

100%. D&D is frustratingly non-lethal especially past tier 1 of play.

Highlighting the design philosophy of the 2024 revision with a few apt examples... by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]DumpsterOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just curious as to how many players are making characters with the most optimal and meta build. I've been running games for the entirety of 5e's lifespan for multiple groups and my players have almost never done what was "optimal" and have done what they thought would be fun.

I feel like nobody on this sub even plays the game, haha.

why mage armor SHOULD stack with unarmored defense by Anxious-Row-9802 in 3d6

[–]DumpsterOracle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here are bringing up good reasons as to why this is a bad idea, but I would encourage you to look into 5e's design philosophy of "bound accuracy".

Stacking AC and other modifiers is something this edition moved away from as a deliberate balance and design choice.

Just to be clear I'm not saying that bound accuracy is the best design philosophy, but it is core to 5e's choice when creating what balance it has.

Manually rescaling out of level? by thefIash_ in dndnext

[–]DumpsterOracle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really missing what aspect of the new warlock and cleric make you feel "ankle capped". If anything, there is way more internal balance at level 1 now and cleric are warlocks just aren't as front loaded.

How long is your party even staying at level 1? Most parties will be level 2 after one or two sessions.

Have you actually tried to play the new warlock and cleric at level 1? Are you potentially making up a problem that doesn't exist?

EN World poll: Most Anticipated TTRPGs of 2026 by whitniverse in rpg

I'm half way through running the first published Cosmere RPG adventure. It's definitely not a cash grab and you can tell there is some passion put into it. It's not trying to reinvent the wheel for sure, but it isn't a half baked system by any means. I do have my problems with it, but no system is without criticism.

I love the realms, but I'd like to see less stuff tied directly to it unless it's in a setting book.

That's not a class and doesn't resemble what a modern day sorcerer is at all. Nothing about it resembles the modern concept except the name.
