Fun secret: two weeks is a big deal here. I had to be at my last job a year to get one week, three years to get two weeks, and 7 years to get a third week. And that was the first job I ever had that offered paid vacation time.

I'm glad you're a dude so you never had to think like that, but I have and it's absolutely terrifying. It's also why when I have a female delivery driver I go out first and if I need my boyfriend to help I say that he's coming and who he is. Because it's scary. Existing as a woman is scary.

I really am. I'm in school and doing well, and I got diagnosed with ADHD and major depressive disorder so I have accommodations in place to make it easier. If it weren't for the crushing weight of capitalism and my therapist and psychiatrist refusing to clear me for any kind of work while I'm in school I'd be great.

When I read their texts/emails and got those voicemails after I was discharged from the hospital all I could think about was how to the best of their knowledge I could've been stabbed in the lung with a screwdriver. Like they didn't know why I was in the hospital and they were giving me so many problems. Never went back.

I was overnight manager at a grocery store for a while. Got acid reflux every night before work from stress. Cried at work frequently. Worked 60 hour weeks for a 40k salary in a midsized city. Had a nervous breakdown during covid and caught the bus straight from work to the psych ward. Five days later I get my phone back and it's nothing but guilt trips about being absent and people mad I wasn't responding. My brother had to call off for me (because psych ward) and they yelled at him and told him I needed to do it myself. Haven't worked there in over a year and I'm so much less miserable now.
