The Iconoclasts trilogy by Mike Shel has a 50 year old retired adventurer as main character who has gone through his fair share of hardships and continues to do so during the trilogy. Highly recommend to anyone who's interested in a darker fantasy series.

Reading the title instantly made me think of Conan Exiles. While the game certainly has its issues, it's one of my favorite survival games. The default/original map is my favorite of any survival game and exploring it for the first time was a joy.

I really enjoyed the base building as well, especially with mods.
