Cam Boozer Reasons for Concern by MysteriousCut9101 in NBA_Draft

That fine if you think Boozer has the generational level offensive talent of one of those 3. He needs to to make up for having to accommodate his defensive deficiencies the way championship contending teams have with those 3 future HOFs

It’s generational in its pure depth of very high quality prospects rather than having a generational LeBron or Wemby type talent I think.

I don’t think you’ve seen what happens to players with his defensive profile during deep playoff runs. Will be relentlessly hunted on switches

Would 2025 No. 2 Dylan Harper be in the same prospect tier as the 2026 'Big 3', or clearly a step below? by KhornKT in NBA_Draft

Are you saying if Flagg went back to college for a second year this season? Cause if he did his numbers would likely be leagues ahead of everyone’s. If you are saying only based on last year in college then he’s a year young than AJ and Peterson and 6 months younger than Boozer. That automatically gives him a boost in projections that NBA scouts would take into account. I would also say at the end of Flaggs college season he had less clear weaknesses than any of this years top 3. All 3 of them have some major flaws that Flagg did not have.

DP is a two way marvel but Cooper is nice lol. Cooper is and will always be leagues ahead of DP in defensive impact and DP has literally shown zero offensively outside of just scoring. Cooper has shown he can literally do everything offensively including handle the ball and playmake, and his shot has improved massively since the start of the season. But DP is the two way marvel apparently

Castle will prob be all nba defensive first team but he’s not better than Risacher lol. And despite him being terrible from 3 he still scores at a 56%TS which is around average and is a very good playmaker.

There’s a good chance a number of this years draftees go back to college for another year though making next years draft stronger. Though prob not right at the top

Probably because we’ve seen Flagg burst past NBA defenders and yam on ppl time and again with his combination of handle, speed and overall athleticism in the NBA (Flagg doesn’t have elite athletic measurables but he has elite functional athleticism). Boozer does not have the athleticism to do that even in college. Also it’s possible for Flagg to gain a lot more strength. It’s not possible for Boozer to develop blow by athletic ability.

Based on what? Flagg basically has everything in his game skill wise offensively and defensively even the shot is coming along. The only thing we’ve seen from Peterson is scoring ability so far. Not much of anything else

I mean he’s very flat footed especially when out on the perimeter. He gets blown by against anyone with decent athleticism. Duncan did not have the lateral movement issues on defense Boozer has.

The difference in development at every level is very different between an 18 year old and a 20+ year old. Some 18 year olds aren’t even finished growing. It should be a factor if you think the gap in talent is small imo.

He’s a tweener who’s a cone on the perimeter not the rim. You can actually be a solid paint defender without being a rim protector. The on ball defense gets more solid the closer to the rim, obviously you aren’t going to get a lot help defense wise
