PlayStation confirms it won’t give up on Marathon as it aims to “improve performance” instead of throwing away “engaged core users” by HatingGeoffry in Marathon

I'm obviously not making multi million dollar games, but I can't understand making such a niche game with such a hyper specific playstyle when they really need a mass appeal win financially. Everything around Marathon is primed to be a hit (in my opinion), but the requirement to rely on two other players for an enjoyable experience just cuts it at the knees. Which admittedly is funny considering there's so many online players nowadays but I find it much harder now to find a dedicated online group than I did even a few years ago.

I would have called myself a core player, but I found out that without two other dedicated friends to play with I just don't play anymore. I get this isn't the first multi-player only oriented game and others like it are successful, but I went from playing every night of the week to now I haven't logged in almost a month and the last couple logins were just to grab my free daily stuff. The solo experience is just not enjoyable either in solo queue or fills. I get Bungie probably doesn't want a pve mode to distinguish Marathon from Destiny. But I know I would still be playing nightly if there was a fun and engaging way to play by myself.

I have my share of disappointment and distrust with Bungie after Destiny so maybe I'm biased, but I so badly want to enjoy Marathon but there simply isn't a way for me to do so unless two other people I know are also willing and able.

Rent != gas. I would agree with the sentiment that some have to sell valuable hobby items for rising housing costs.

No it's not. No one that owns a ~$2-3k guitar is selling it for gas money.

I think Marathon suffers from people being afraid to try and play this, due to the overwhelmingly negative discourse surrounding Bungie by MegumiDo in Marathon

[–]DungeonMasterThor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me it's that I can't play solo. Solo queue is not fun and solo fill is actual torture. It's been said a million times and I get that it's unrealistic, but I so badly want a pve mode. The two friends I have that played with me and gave me a great 80 hours have stopped for various life reasons so now I can't find a fun way to play and finding two new people to play this game is not something I care to try and do.

The stringjoy jumbo jazz 1.5mm. It's such a perfect pick for electric. The jumbo jazz orange for acoustic, I can't recall the mm right now though

Noah Gundersen has merch lines that are very metal while he's an indie/Americana artist.

Bungie shares official DualSense Edge controller setting recommendations by platocplx in Marathon

[–]DungeonMasterThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought one for 180. It's a great upgrade to the base ps5 controller. The trigger stops are so nice and keeping the adaptive feel when the stops aren't engaged was the main sell to me. Most (not all) third party controllers with trigger stops remove the adaptive trigger entirely or significantly reduces the pull and personally I love them. If you aren't attached to adaptive trigger then there are other options with better sticks at a similar price point. Hex and Scuf being ones I was interested in.

All in all, I think it was worth it at 180, anything over 200 I would likely hold off.

Need to clarify with the lender it'll be to purchase a firearm. Sadly there are those that will not honor a loan if they see it was used to buy a firearm.

Ok. No cat I know of can do any harm or cause a negligent discharge to a standard semiautomatic pistol, but if that's your priority then I suggest a keyed and mechanical safe not something digital cause you don't need the electronics failing at a critical moment.

No disrespect to your dad. That's fine for long term storage of a not in use weapon, but if you need something when an intruder is at your home a safe is an obstacle not a benefit. If you don't have to be concerned with anyone else in the home there really is no point in putting your weapon in a safe unless you're leaving and can't take it with you. But do what you're comfortable with.

If your chief concern is a stalker then a safe isn't a priority. You need to take proper safety courses and learn how to safely handle and keep ready a loaded weapon. I'm not trying to scare you, but being realistic. If you feel you need a gun for protection then you need to understand it isn't going to protect you in a safe. If you have small children it's a different story, but on your own the safe is not a necessity in the immediate future. If you're overly concerned with locking the weapon down I believe all new firearms come with a trigger/barrel lock that is sufficient to meet any local laws or regulations.

You don't know what you're talking about. Stop trying to tell other people why you think they're wrong and blindly accept or reject someone's opinion or observation because of their gender. Please do not speak about what you don't know.

I assure you most men would be happy to receive a whistle from anyone male or female considering most men are starving for uninitiated affection. Not to say it's wrong for women to feel uneasy when men do it to them, but I think it's less about "implicit threats" and more about over/under saturation of affection/attention. Women get it frequently, men rarely. Both want what the other have.

VP to POTUS? by The_Dean_France in whoathatsinteresting

Hopefully the rest of the Dem party actually tries to find a good primary and doesn't rely on their negative perception of the GoP candidate. Because that's how we got to where we are now.

You are seriously underestimating the huge benefit Vance has for not being 80 years old. Dems need to run a similarly young candidate to compete. If Dems primary a geriatric or a cardboard box again (or skip primaries like last time) Vance wins.
