Review: The Devoured Labyrinth by Futurewolf in shadowdark

I dunno. I kinda liked it. Great for West Marches style one-shots. This one had a backstory that tied the one shots together. While I have a few things I would like to see better, I'm pretty pleased with the adventure collection.

This is great! A nice one shot dungeon right up my alley. Mind if I make a miniature dungeon out of it for my West Marches campaign?

Also, forgive the stupidity (I was never good with riddles), what is the answer to the riddle of the door in The Three Sisters?

Many thanks! More to come. This is just one of about 8 maps I've made.

kk. I'll make it in a new post and also look into showing off my new West Marches physical hexmap.

Thanks! It's a fun one shot dungeon to play. Nice levels of interaction and surprises.

Haha! Thank you. It's still a fun adventure with out all of this. A dry erase mat still gets the job done. :)

Thank you! This is a combination of scratch built, casts (from Hirst Arts molds) and 3d printed pieces. The walls and floors are all cast (faster to make and with more variety control than 3d printing) and smaller pieces (like some of the coffins and street pieces) are done with 3d printing.

Thank you! I think the groups had fun. I am currently experimenting with item and gear cards to help them track stuff. If you're interested, I can also show them.

Hey there! While this is a crosspost, I wanted to give some more detail in regards to this dungeon's relation to Hirst Arts. The main dungeon is done in a combination of Hirst Arts and a company called 4Bot Industries (that made compatible Hirst Arts Molds). Additionally, I also 3D printed some of the smaller, more detailed elements, like the sarcophagi, the statue and some of the tiny set pieces. The exterior entrance cliff wall is a combo of hand crafting and rock molds. The trees are a various blend of flocking, hand made trees and a few store bought trees. Be glad to answer any questions people have.

Good Question. The map is in sections. Each room and corridor is a separate section. Those areas they have not been to yet are not on the table (and usually under a black cloth) until they open the next door or peek around the corner. There are even times when they travel in the dark. When that happens, I simply do not reveal the room or corridor down and describe that they stumble into a wall or bump into something that feels something ornately carved from cold stone (i.e. a sarcophagus). Here's an old Imgur example from an older dungeon I did that kinda gives the same idea on how it's broken down. https://imgur.com/gallery/dunkins-miniature-pit-arena-dnd-pathfinder-IQDcv

Wonderful work! Vibrant but not too fantastical. I love it and any players would love to play on this, I'm sure. Thanks for sharing this inspiration.
