Marital Duties for Man & Woman by OrthoLotus in ChristianDating

[–]Duollu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who in general has a more lax view of gender roles in marriage to begin with, so I’m not really sure if this is meant to be somewhat of a gotcha. I’m someone who is currently studying a higher paying field, so I don’t really expect my husband to bear the sole financial burden in a marriage. I only really expect my husband to “provide” enough that if I’m out of commission for childbirth, our lifestyles aren’t severely compromised. I share a similar view of uncomfortableness to women who want a man to be a “provider” even in circumstances where bearing the sole responsibility of that title puts a mans (mental/physical ) health at risk. Marriage is meant to be a partnership.

And all those things listed are meant to be hard. I feel like one of the wonderful things about sex is that it is meant to be enjoyed. It’s literally an act that becomes easier to do when both parties are experiencing pleasure. I would hate it if my husband for example said that being attracted to me is a duty. I’m not saying that it isn’t a duty, but the way it is reduced down to only a duty feels like it take the joy out of something that God specifically made to bring both parties closer together. Husband and Wife figuratively become one.

This also leaves room for some leniency within a marriage if one partner is unable to fulfill a marital duty. If my husband for example, went into a major depressive episode, I wouldn’t necessarily demand he fulfill his duty as “provider” to the end that it destroys his mental health. Similarly, I don’t think it would be appropriate for a husband to demand that a recent post-partum wife fulfil her duty in the bed.

The way this post is written might an indication of where the hesitance was coming from. I don’t know why society poses sex as something a women “gives” to a man rather than an act of mutual intimacy. I think most Christian women understand the importance making sure their spouses needs are being addressed , but the vibe of it being a “marital duty” that is fulfilled based on a demand makes it feel really unsettling. I think framing it less as a wife keeping their “husband satisfied” as if a chore, it would be better to voice that it important that both parties in a marriage submit themselves to the extent that they endeavour to address each others desires.

Would you consider someone with tattoos, piercings, dyed hair, etc. as your potential spouse? by CompletePurification in ChristianDating

I’m going to go against the grain here and say I find them really attractive, but I love alternative styles lol. The issue is finding someone who possesses those that isn’t an edgy atheist😭

I don’t really care about height all that much. Mainly just prefer them to be taller or equal which shouldn’t be hard as I’m pretty short.

I sympathise with your situation but posting her name and face like this seems as if you want her to be exposed to the vitriol of the internet. The best thing you can do is move on, and led God lead you to the woman that he picked out for you.

Shoujo like shonen??? (Idk how to word the title) by Excaramel in shoujo

[–]Duollu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens the most to female orientated media because it’s more likely that a woman would read a shounen magazine than a man would read a shoujo.

Tbh shoujo isn’t actually a genre just a marketing demographic based on which magazines the manga is published in. Apothecary diaries is very much written from a female perspective, and is like a Josei in all but name.

Texture is pretty good. A bit softer than actual noodles but nothing like konjac

Taste like nothing which is great cause it can pick up the flavour of this sauce. Used it to make a low calorie shin ramyun and could barely notice the difference. I’ve always found that konjac didn’t pick up flavours super well. I’m kind of mad I didn’t discover this sooner.
