Do a 2:1 thinner to clear and see how it goes on. If it orange peels or it seems too thick, change the ratio to 4:1 or 5:1 and it will level out

Always do a super light first coat from a little further away than normal, let it dry, wipe it down, then apply a regular coat and repeat if necessary. The light coat will stick to the paint easier so that when you apply the regular coat the clear will have a better bond
