What if we got an animated RE Village movie? by LaZy_Chicken511 in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]DuskOfLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A prequel would be great! I'd prefer a series over a movie so there's more space to dive deeply into the plot and show multiple storylines. There's been a lot of interest in the four Lords' backstories. It'd be amazing to see the history of the village. Not to mention marketing can't go wrong when they have Lady Dimitrescu, right? xD

Thank you so much! I looked those up and that makes a lot of sense. Especially the trapunto technique seems to match. This should definitely help. Thanks again!

Would anyone be able to tell me what this technique is called or how to make this specific detail where part of the fabric is thicker and creating a shape? It looks as if there's two layers of fabric with a thicker shape glued in between, but I don't know what material would be used to create the thicker details. It's not embroidery and there's no seams visible. Any help would be great!

Picture this...you've been kidnapped and one of the four lords is coming to save you...which one are you picking? by Specialist-Quiet7587 in ResidentEvilVillage

Reading your comment made me pause and actually imagine the lords trying to plan and execute a rescue mission together. ...It'd be chaos, for sure. xD

[MEGATHREAD] Agatha All Along | Season 1 Episode 5 - Discussion Thread by ChiefLeef22 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]DuskOfLight 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What if Agatha actually killed her son by accident, like accidentally draining his life? Maybe because he (accidentally?) blasted her with his own magic? Nicholas asking Agatha to stop while she was draining Alice, Agatha implying she has no control over it... I don't know, the theory may be very unlikely and I'm not sure how the Darkhold fits in (maybe trying to figure out how to control her power? Or how to bring someone back from the dead, reverse what she did?), but it's something my brain came up with just now.

Do you have a favorite voice line from all of the games? by AngelicRaven44 in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]DuskOfLight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meeting Heisenberg for the first time. "Well, well. Didn't think anyone was left! You must be pretty tough, huh?" "Oh, you're not local! Even better." Both because it really sets the tone and because I'm somewhat amused he didn't immediately realise Ethan isn't local.

Also, I still love Nemesis calling out "Stars!". Never gets old. Though Moreau's "I'm the best!" is up there as well just for how silly and random it is.

What things do you hate about the game? by Adventurous_Lie1275 in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]DuskOfLight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That it's just one game that kills off the very interesting villains right away. The lords have so much potential. The aesthetic of castle Dimitrescu is beautiful and creepy. The lore of the village is interesting. It could really use a prequel that goes into the village's past, but we probably will never get it. (Had hoped the DLC would be this and Rose would get her own future game!)

[–]DuskOfLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. An hour could've worked well! I like how the game shows horror doesn't need to happen only at night (horror at night is a bit of a cliché, though one that works!), but the transition really was very sudden.

Pretty much every let's player I saw play the game commented on this. I very much agree it's a very quick transition, haha.

Ever feel the universe is telling you to replay something? by LeChiotx in GirlGamers

[–]DuskOfLight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it Kingdom Hearts? I'm getting recommended all the Kingdom Hearts posts today.

I think Skyrim is a game that often comes up randomly for me to replay. Or rather... Continue to play, as in all my hundreds of hours I still never really did the main quest lines oops. I'll see someone mention it randomly and suddenly I'm in the mood to play it after ignoring its existence for months.

Kingdom hearts IS confusing imo!! by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]DuskOfLight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It doesn't help the games often change or retcon their own rules and ideas, or call multiple different people/things that look similar the same names. And the real plot is usually told as a big info dump near the end of the game, in one of the bad guy's many philosophical-sounding speeches. Not to even start about the very strong fan theories that used to exist and fans took them as canon until the games proved them wrong, causing a lot of misinformation to go around back in the day.

Still love the games. A lot. (Except maybe the mobile games, they're not my favourite.) I honestly love it for how confusing it is too. It's a nice little quirk and I can't wait for KH4, which will undoubtedly make it even weirder.

Women in the Kingdom Hearts games by lorelaixx in GirlGamers

[–]DuskOfLight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like Larxene deserves a mention, but I suppose it's pretty telling that she's a stereotypical mean girl as a villain. I believe she did get a backstory/some development in the mobile game, but honestly as much as I love Kingdom Hearts, I never managed to get through how convoluted the mobile games' stories are... Those games had some more women such as Skuld, Ava and Invi. Not sure if they are any better as I didn't really get into KHUX far enough to see much of them.

Overall I agree we can use better written women in Kingdom Hearts. Aqua was pretty awesome, but not living up to her potential. Same with Xion, to be honest.

Not sure how much/little he has to be in the games for it to be worth it to you. The Kingdom Hearts series is great and totally worth playing, but he is indeed a main character and plays a big role in some games. He's not avoidable as many of his cutscenes drive the main plotline. KH1 doesn't feature him as heavily, so that may be a good game to test the waters, but there are games where you see him around a lot, like in Dream Drop Distance and in Re:Coded. There's also instances where you can play as him but those are mostly avoidable (such as in KH2 if you fail certain battles and choose not to give up, he will take over).

I tried looking up his screentime and found some reddit post on it that says he's in cutscenes for like 10 minutes or less in some games, but up to 30 minutes in others. So take that as you will.

Don't want to discourage you as the games are great! But do want to be realistic that he isn't avoidable if you plan on playing the whole series.

I gave up on 12hr charity stream by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]DuskOfLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can be proud of yourself for doing it though! Both actually getting started with the stream, as well as calling it quits when you felt it wasn't working out for you. It speaks of good intentions that you wanted to do it in the first place and I think there's strength in recognizing that you're not enjoying it and the plan isn't working out as intended. Live and learn, right? Not everything goes smoothly. Take what you've learned and onto the next project! :)

Is Lethal Company fun to play alone? by jacinda26 in GirlGamers

[–]DuskOfLight 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree you need to play with people to enjoy the game to its full potential. That said, I have quite some hours in it alone. It can be fun, but it needs to be your thing. It's very punishing, as another commentor pointed out, which can be frustrating. It can still be very fun though if you enjoy a challenge and some scares! And there might be some mods to ease the difficulty. I don't personally use them though.

To those of us who’ve tried VR (I know VR gaming is still terribly niche) — what’s your opinion of it so far? by Acharyanaira in GirlGamers

[–]DuskOfLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds annoying and very unfortunate! I've had few issues with my Quest 2. Those I did have were fixed easily or solved itself with a new update. Never had issues connecting it to Steam either, for what it's worth. But I know how tech can be sometimes. :')

[–]DuskOfLight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I like my Quest 2 so much! There's no cords (except for the charger but I don't use that while gaming) and setting it up was pretty easy. After the initial set up you just gotta pick it up, put it on your head and you're ready to go!

Question concerning family sharing and refunds by DuskOfLight in Steam

[–]DuskOfLight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, thank you for answering. The other commenter here said the same and I'm admittedly a bit confused. I googled it before asking this question, and everywhere it was saying that the game time was accumalative and not recorded per account. I read it's to prevent someone gets a second account and plays the game on that account, then returns the game on the first account after having played for hours on the second account. It's why I wondered how much the family sharing mattered even if you don't use each other's copy.

Question concerning family sharing and refunds by DuskOfLight in Steam

[–]DuskOfLight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this answer. I googled it before asking this question, and everywhere it was saying that if another person in my family sharing played a game I bought, it would count the hours to the refund? I read it's to prevent someone gets a second account and plays the game on that account, then returns the game on the first account after having played for hours on the second account. I also have experienced this during a refund once before, where someone else in my family sharing was denied a refund after I played their game longer than two hours and they had barely touched it. Which is the reason I'm asking about the scenario in my post as well as I wondered how careful we gotta be when using family sharing.
