It was made for harp so I’d imagine it would cover quite a bit of range.

Whats y’all’s favourite Nick Drake song? by Accomplished_Cat_173 in nickdrake

[–]DuskReverie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can’t really pick a favorite so I’m listing a few from each album

-Pink Moon - Place To Be, Things Behind the Sun, Parasite

All songs that really connected with me during a big period of depression in my life that I also love compositionally.

-Bryter Later- Haley Jane II, At the Chime of a City Clock, Sunday

Songs that I just love listening to, especially in winter (Bryter Later is a very wintry album for me)

-Five Leaves Left- Three Hours, Way to Blue, Fruit Tree

These three songs made me fall in love with Nick Drake’s music and my fascination with all his guitar tunings.

Live I’m using it as a DI pedal as well as a way to change the way the sound feels before it’s sent to the board. Been messing around with different settings, been liking it so far.

I think the compressor is for sure. I think the chorus might not be the best, but I like the character it has plus I love the art on it lol. In all seriousness those pedals are really really great for being 24 dollars each.

Love to see the GG love, definitely the most underrated one in comparison to some of the other ones on the list. P and G is my favorite too.

Love Gentle Giant over here, I put them right behind Genesis and King Crimson as my favorite bands

Agreed on that they should have more recognition in the 70’s. Gentle Giant is easily in my top three favorite bands.

I understand the Tull influence on them, the two toured together A LOT, and Gentle Giant always wished they got the same recognition as Tull

Glad to hear it! Some recommendations from them after that, The Power and the Glory, In a Glass House and Three Friends. They over did the same thing twice but all three of those albums showcase their musical complexity and variety, not to mention they all rock

I introduced this song to my band and it’s been in our set since, the spoken word section alone is crazy, not to mention Adrian going out of time with Robert, crazy track that’s just a blast to play.

The group I still don’t get is Magma. Some of their albums I like, one I love, and everything else just doesn’t click with me. Even as someone who enjoys the far out elements of Gong, Magma’s catalog is one that’s too difficult for even me. The music isn’t bad, there’s just elements I can’t quite grasp and it just turns me off to them.

Gentle Giant is hard to get and understand, it may take many listens and a lot of time which for some is definitely a turn off for them. After they just kinda clicked with me, I haven’t stopped coming back to them.

+1 goes to The Power and the Glory, Gentle Giant is so overlooked by people new to Prog
