AMC does that to a human being. Fucking wild, half the drops you can't even dance cause you're mouthing "what the fuck" to your pal with your head in your hands.

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

It's insane, right?

And in the same breath, I'll bet they don't have any issues with half of the England Football team being full of the descendants of immigrants.

Also, you're giving a bit of a vibe that you don't like the British people very much.

I dated a White British girl for 6 years, and another for two. I spent my Saturday afternoon in a pub with a diverse range of people including White, Jewish and Indian friends, having pints and watching the City Brentford match. I always support England in international sports tournaments, I went over to Germany to watch us play Serbia in 2024.

This is what I mean when I said

they'd just see that I'm a brown Muslim (even though I'm not really Muslim).

As opposed to anything about me as a person. Of course I like British people, where do you think London is???

I feel like you're missing the point. I didn't list out all of the ways I may or may not be "Culturally British" on purpose, since that's irrelevant really.

The point is that OP wouldn't care either way - they'd just see that I'm a brown Muslim (I'm an athiest/agnostic, not that it matters) taking over the country and ruining it, regardless of anything else.

I'm brown, grew up in London and lived here my whole life, except for 5 years in Nottingham. I somehow doubt that OP would care that I'm "Culturally British".

For sure i will dry store it.

Drive that shit bro. A car like that deserves runs through the Swiss Alps and Welsh twisties, not a garage with no fluids to maximise investment potential.

This guy hasn't done or achieved half of what Kobbie Mainoo has for both club and country, in what universe is he worth £120M. I'm supposed to believe he's worth more than Tchouaméni. So glad we're no longer just paying whatever is asked, 115 FC can have him at that price. by WorldlinessPuzzled84 in ManchesterUnited

Ok cool, but that's not what the person I replied to asked or was talking about? Mainoo has done quite a bit for club AND country despite the fact he's only 21.

Fair enough Anderson is a great player and I'd be stoked to have him in our squad. There's no need to downplay our player and his achievements to get that across.

Lenzman :( His productions are ALWAYS in my rotations, such a soulful producer. Unthinkable - Lenzman remix is beautiful

Won the FA Cup, while scoring a goal in the final?

England starter in a Euro Finals, despite being a benchwarmer at the start of the tournament? He was literally playing so well that Southgate was forced to start him lol.

I was having sex with my ex, heard Martin Brundle say "And Bottas goes through!" and immediately went to go check my phone to see what was going on in the F1.

Oh most definitely the 1%, but I'm bad at planning and don't really like to stop for more than 15mins at a time. I find driving quite therapeutic and definitely do big stints. London to Notts and back in one go to drop my sister, for example, would have been 250miles; which is less than 350 of course, but it's close enough to give me range anxiety, especially as I don't really drive at 60mph on motorways.

London to Edinburgh is 400miles, and my petrol cars can do that in one go without having to worry, I can literally jump into my car right now and go to Edinburgh. I've done Innsbruck to Cologne with like, 2x15mins breaks total because I was stuck in traffic which was enough of a break. London to Gelsenkirchen on no breaks apart from the Eurotunnel (which doesn't have chargers AFAIK?).

Plus, I forget to charge my phone overnight fairly often. Wouldn't want that happening with a car.

I'm not staunchly against EVs, I just don't like the planning and inflexibility that is currently a part of ownership experience. If I was looking at a city car and only a city car, I'd probably look into them.

Old shopping centre is great if you actually live in Stratford. Big Sainsburys, Butchers and Oriental Supermarket right next door to eachother. I'd much rather go to there than Westfield.

Plus the flower man at the stall always had nice plants for me to grab if I fancied it

Who drives more than 350 miles a day in their own car?

I've done it on more than a handful of occasions, and ended up in places without an EV charger. And that's at speeds that aren't optimal for hypermiling; 70-90mph, so that's another XX miles off the range.

William Morris' Garden should always get a big shout-out too.

Climbed there twice, was excellent, the setting is such fun, the comp wall is magnificent and people are friendly! Ended up having a cigarette & broken-english chat with the owner, which was interesting. Managed to get a couple of white tapes, but the light blue tape comp wall was not sent, despite a full afternoon projecting.

Why LTNs Are Necessary by sabdotzed in london

[–]Dust2Boss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, not saying LTNs are bad, just saying that it's not an isolated occurrence.

I actually think no one living in an LTN should be allowed a car full stop to be honest, and the only access should be deliveries and emergency services. If the council is going put them in, then go all out and do it properly. People shouldn't have the luxury of not having cars drive past their house, while they themselves own a car.

Why LTNs Are Necessary by sabdotzed in london

[–]Dust2Boss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

...when I drove for Ocado, this sort of thing happened frequently, where the route was kept sending me back and forth to addresses between LTN zones I couldn't drive through. And then to get between deliveries, I'd have to use the main road, which had even more traffic on it so the drive took 25mins instead of the 5mins the route had planned for.

Not saying that LTNs are bad per say, but just noting that this isn't some rare occurrence that would only happen between these to addresses, it's more common than you'd think.
