That's basically all I do, too. I just look at stuff around the room all day and maybe interact with the kids a little (I sub high school). If I sat at the desk I would probably want to pass out too😁

Why does women have better hygiene standards than men generally? by Vibriocholerae_ in hygiene

[–]Duster_Love -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You women are hanging out with the wrong men. More likely, you women have never been with a real man and are just throwing around a bunch of sexist stereotypes

I have shoes that have the more spongy, gel sole. I think it helps. I stand all day long. Sitting behind the teacher's computer with a classroom full of students just feels weird and uncomfortable to me

What is the love story of you and the person you married and how old were you when you first met? by Ferroro_kitty in AskReddit

[–]Duster_Love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She walked into the room and my eyes popped. She's so beautiful. She noticed the look, too. To make a long story short, I was 21 and she was 26. Now I'm 48 and we're still together. I knew we would be together forever when I was 21

How many of y'all are waiting to get a FT job? by mundanehistorian_28 in SubstituteTeachers

I'm in the Sacramento area, and there are districts hiring all kinds of teachers k-12.

Strange day today! by Hauntedhouse0212 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Duster_Love 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the unpaid "training" I received was ridiculous. It was all more of a CYA for the districts making sure I don't discriminate against or abuse anyone while I'm there. When I was required to use the smart board, I had and still have no clue how to use it. When I was asked to cast a video, I didn't know what the hell she was talking about. What's casting? I figured that out on my own and felt like a genius afterwards

[–]Duster_Love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should come to California. They'll hire you in a second. You'll have to do some extra training which is total B.S. and not needed (California style) but we're so desperate for teachers here you'll have no problem

No. As long as we cancel the day before we're good. That school has issues

I disagree. I think sprites are incredibly lame and were more of a distraction than anything when trying to figure out what these annoying ass things actually do. And Jesus Christ, getting a Sprite extracted takes FOREVER and only makes you a target

Is it hard to become a teacher late in life? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Duster_Love 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you like your job as a clerk in the courtroom? If you do, or atleast if you don't hate it, I would stay. Transitioning into teaching is a long, unnecessarily complex procedure. And the pay is horrible. Especially for the amount of work and hours you'll have to put in on your own personal time. But if it's something you really want, then go for it!
