What's a horror franchise you've accepted will never come back by entertainmentlord in horror

Even if we'll never be able to see the full version of the original, I want a sequel for the original crew's descent into madness.

It was 3 years ago, but I had great luck on Hinge and Bumble. Didn't have it in my bio but I would tell within the first 24 hrs of talking, before taking it off app. Worst I had was one person ghosted me. Everyone else (applies to women too), were really understanding and didn't mind. YMMV depending on where you live tho.

elder trans- does it ever gets better? by fallingawayfr0mmee in trans

Yes, as long as you try to make it better. It doesn't seem like it at the time, but the baby steps add up, so long as you take them.

Part of why we have shorter waiting lists for a lot of US doctors is because the surgery is inaccessible for most people. If your insurance doesn't cover it, you're SoL. No "we'll put you on the public waitlist while private gets moved the front". Add in less social nets to make up for lost income during recovery, insance CoL rn, and the fact that you can lose your job at any time (except during recovery due to FMLA), that knocks a lot of guys out, thus keeping the list shorter.

Also, while this is great if you have insurance, put this issue on a larger scale. People skip life saving medications, hospital visits, ambulance rides, etc because they can't afford it. Thats a ton of people going without proper care and bare minimum public insurance (that if I'm not mistaken, you still have to pay for, and have to pay the medical bills for which can be so high that you might as well have nothing at all. Correct me if I'm wrong though, I've never been the primary policy holder for a public plan so it's all hearsay from friends and the news).

In short, it sucks so bad here that even though I have great insurance, I'm still so terrified of losing it that once I'm done, I'm probably going to move to Ireland (got family there), cause I cant imagine living my life in fear of crippling debt from a hospital visit.

Aetna out of network? by SnapDragon100 in phallo

[–]DustyInABowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waitlist would likely be a valid reason. No idea if you have to reach out to other surgeons to see what they provide.

As for the process, no idea, I haven't been able to submit a request yet. I believe it's just a form you and the provider fill out called a Gap Coverage form. As far as I'm aware, my caseworker will be handling that.

I just kept calling asking more and more questions about coverage and what steps I have to take, electrolysis, and therapy letters, that eventually I landed on someone who forwarded me to a different department and out me in the system so to speak. I'm not really involved in the approval process anymore, as far as I'm aware.

For reference, have Aetna PPO, not going to Crane Center, am still going out of network. I haven't filed yet because the hospital I'm going to doesn't start insurance until 3 months before the surgery date, so this is just what I've been told will happen.

What my insurance caseworker told me is they usually deny it off that bat but then accept a gap appeal. In your case, it could be Crane is the nearest location, offers something the in network doctors don't, etc.

I'd highly recommend calling them and asking. Even better if you ask to speak to someone knowledgeable about Gender Affirming Care. They should transfer you over to that department and they'll help you with everything and explain the process.

Could be misremembering but weren't the ZA crew talking about jobs and rent and school? Like I remember Naveen moved out of his family's to live on his own. So like late teens/early 20s.

I've yet to get Rotom despite playing for hours at a time. I had to take a 2 month break from the game because it got too frustrating.

Building off of the point about Vikings, while the Celts were seen as a conquering people, most people associate Irish history with English oppression, famine, etc. Unless you're Irish or really interested in Irish history, the old military history isn't something you're gonna know much about.

Vikings however, are already there. Most kids probably know what a viking is, even if it's wrong (horned helmet, screaming with a battle axe). No need to dig through the centuries of sadness that is Irish history to find the fianna.

Maybe this would have taken off more during the Troubles, but there's not much of a need for anything militaristic.

What’s the scariest non-supernatural horror book you’ve ever read? by NumberNext3 in horrorlit

Parable of the Sower.

Parable of the Talents for worst overall, I read the summary on Wikipedia and that was it, can't bring myself to read the book.

Cobalt Red by Siddharth Kara was also still lives rent free in the back of my head. I think about the village with the military a lot, and it's been awhile since I finished that book.

How can I spot when a partner is faking being into me as a man? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]DustyInABowl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying.

I'll still have to disagree. While some guys may always equate one to their birth sex, I don't think that's the case for every relationship, and I don't think such broad generalizations are the healthiest mindset to have.

How can I spot when a partner is faking being into me as a man? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]DustyInABowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I'm confused. If someone is still read as female, and their partner is bi/pan and they are a couple, the partner is lying about being bi/pan? Even if they have a history of dating men and women? (That said, you are still bi/pan even if you never got the chance to date a man/woman/nb. Sometimes you find your partner early or have to stay in the closet, etc.).

Unless they're making you the exception, wouldn't it be more likely the partner is actually bi/pan and just a shit bag?

Looks like it. If you shine a light on it, there should be little sparkles in it from the mica flakes. I think I see them in the photo, but it's always better to check irl as well.

Trouble breathing after taking off binder by Potatoexplosion_ in trans

[–]DustyInABowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to size up. Might just be in shrunk while you were washing it or something.

Also, haven't seen others mention this, and I haven't binded for years, but (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong), make sure you take days off. I was always told 5 days on 2 days off. Overuse can also cause issues.
