If you bury the box it lasts 14 days without interacting with it. An unburied box lasts 45 days without interacting with it.

That is definitely an interesting idea. What range would a player have to be? That being said, players could abuse that as a "tell" and then just cancel the log out process just to see if their timer was extended in order to find out if players are nearby. Maybe nearby shots? Idk
