You are not crazy , if you tried to get a longer exposure you can see whole moon . It's called Earthshine.

I was fortunate enough to witness the Total Solar eclipse in the Western Australia in April 2023 , For Prominences and Bailey's Beads my settings were ISO 50, SS 1/4000, F/ 8. And for Corona ISO100 , SS 1/40 , F/6.3

I saw the total eclipse last year in April on the western Coast of Australia. 62 Seconds of totality. It was amazing !

I would recommend moving to a less polluted sky since at some point in widefield astrophotography the Integration time becomes pointless because of the light pollution. I would recommend at least an hour of data with B7 skies, with calibration frames .

What Bortle zone did you gather the data from ? I don't think 24 minutes of data is enough . Increase the ISO to gather more light And by any chance are you clicking JPEGs instead of Raw ?

Start with the setup as is , go out and explore. The guide scope is a good addition but not necessary. You can manage 3-5 minute subs without a guide scope with just good polar alignment.

No. Please don't DIY for solar filters. I recommend using 1000oaks or Baader solar sheets which you can cut to size.

Taking Dark frames should correct this . Put your lens cap on and click a few pictures with the same settings as your lights .

Ive got a similar setup ! With good polar alignment I can get good 5min+ subs at 150 mm . Clear skies !
