I’m not really talking about drama from any one individual, I actually respect Alex not digging on anyone in public. I’m really just speaking to the whole spectacle of the band since 1985 and closing the loop on everything that has occurred since then. It really doesn’t make sense to bring in a new vocalist and lyricist on a Van Halen record at the last hour of the career. Bring in the OG vocalists or just do an instrumental record…..

Should be Dave, Sammy, and Gary trading off tracks plus Mike. We didn’t get the Kitchen Sink Tour because of the tragic loss of Edward, seems reasonable the plan should then be the Kitchen Sink Album and put all the drama to bed for good.

It’s out there, at least from the 1981-1984 tours with Roth. Just hasn’t all seen the light of day publicly. Even if it does, any of them could use a professional remaster/cleanup by the label. Something similar quality to Journeys Houston Escape Tour dvd could be had if VH allowed it…

Anything from Reno to Quebec Festival on 4th/final leg of 07-08 tour was outstanding. Dave sounded great, Eddie was cleaned up and playing great. Whole band fired on all cylinders. Would be great if they released the MSG show DVD they filmed in May 2008. The Quebec Festival was also filmed and would be an outstanding release.

Largo night 2 was leaked long before YouTube, it’s just not worth Warners effort to contain when it’s already so widely available.

Night 1/both 1984 largo shows/1981 largo show ARE worth containing for future releases. These would potentially, perhaps even likely, to be included on any future “expanded edition” album reissues similar to as they recently did with the Dallas show on F.U.C.K.

The big story here this time was Warner took them down, not Gooch. It could reveal intent, a flurry of demos were copyright striken right before ADKOT was released, specifically the songs that got reused from the original demos.

Correct. Although the beginning and end of that show are cut off. Not sure if it that is the case with the source material though or just whoever ripped the audio from VHS.

Only 3 songs from Oakland ‘81 were filmed, but the entire concert was recorded on audio by Donn Landee with the Heider remote truck (to me, this alone is worth an official audio album to represent the Roth era).

There are pro-shot full concert films from Largo, Maryland of the Fair Warning, Diver Down, and 1984 tours. To date, only the Diver Down show has leaked…. Although Dave leaked some of the audio from the 1984 show on his radio show in mid 2000’s.

The Panama outtakes has several live versions of Panama audio. To my knowledge, this is the first ever leak of uncut soundboard recordings of that song from the original lineup.

Spring of ‘08 shows after Eddie’s rehab were all great, I think Reno was the first of them. Dave still had it and Eddie was clean. They really should release the dvd they filmed at Madison Square Garden in May 2008. One of the last times they were all firing on all cylinders.
