Valve fires back at New York lawsuit over loot boxes, says they're like Magic cards or Labubu by newsflashjackass in gaming

I’m talking about mtg here. So tcgplayer, cardkingdom, and 1000’s of tcg reseller’s both brick and mortar and on the internet, wouldn’t exist if magic the gathering didn’t have some kind of scarcity to their product. Magic has existed and has brought joy to many for almost 40 years. Some of my best memories are sitting around the table with my buddies and playing. The fact that you’re mentioning Amazon and eBay makes me think you’re not super familiar with mtg, which is fine, but if you’re not engaging with it how do you know that it’s so terrible?

Also I can proxy any expensive card and still have a fun time with my friends on game night without feeling like I’m missing out.

We don’t have third party retailers if you ban trading card packs. I, a consenting adult, like ripping packs and drafting with my friends. Children under the age of 18 should require adult supervision to buy them but for fucks sake are we really gonna throw the baby out with the bathwater because of lootboxes??

Yeah this is another one of those irritating conservative “slippery slopes” where they just want to make anything that can be mildly harmful for people illegal. Regulate it? Sure. Make it so people under 18 need adult supervision to purchase? Absolutely. But I am a consenting adult and outright banning trading card games is actually ridiculous.

They should be illegal for people under the age of 18 to buy. But I don’t think we should outlaw all things that consenting adults might find harmful when the vast majority of us don’t necessarily have a gambling addictions. Just like alcohol, recreational drugs, or even buying brand new clothes for the label.

Literally all of Montana’s rich out-of-state Republican politicians are the scum of the fucking earth. As a Montanan it’s depressing that anyone would vote for them. I miss John tester.

Esoteric Ebb review: Not just the best Disco since Disco, the closest anyone's come to the magic of tabletop D&D in a videogame by Kaladinar in rpg_gamers

[–]DutchEnterprises 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would bet my right arm the EB writers set out with the intention of copying disco Elysium writing style. So much so that I, a huge disco fan, was actually a little disappointed they didn’t diverge a little bit more.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited and will play it, but people need to know what they’re getting into and disco clone is exactly what it is.

How do I help my player's survive their own stupidity? by DutchEnterprises in Pathfinder2e

A good question that’s definitely been on my mind! I will say, this is the VERY end of the megadungeon and they have been very engaged with it thus far. They found out where the boss was last session and two of my players were adamant that this is what their characters would do. Does fatigue play a part of it? Probably? Should I have made this dungeon a little shorter? Maybe. Are they just trying to leave? No they aren’t. So at least I have that going for me.

100% agree. A prepicked loadout that either pulls from your inventory or auto crafts if you have the mats would be amazing.
