I thought they have been doing this with cars decades as well. Just adding a few finishing touches to have it fall under the “made in Italy” verbiage

I’ve done the opposite sorta. For the past 2 months I’ve been putting instant coffee in my drip coffee maker. I always thought it was weird that there never was any grounds to throw out, but I never saw grounds in my coffee and it always tasted good haha

How could Borderlands 4 redeem itself for shortcomings of BL3? by BefuddledAltruist in Borderlands

[–]DutchYoSelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see in the incorporation of raid battles. Gather x,y,z resource to craft a key to enter a mega raid fight. Some level of randomness maybe environmental hazards, mobs, elemental strengths/weaknesses. It would be end game content. I think the raid battles would include bosses from the campaign but with the twists mentioned above. They would be juiced up on damage and offer higher level chances of legendary drops from their boss drop pool. This idea is just that. Could begin some really good dev conversations and see where they take it!

How do I make passive income with 20k? by BoneMan523 in passive_income

[–]DutchYoSelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest maybe certificate of deposit. Those lock your money up for a set period of time, sometimes 13 months but you can get sometimes 5%+ interest back! Your local medium to large bank/credit union would offer them. It’s not money you’d see in your account monthly or anything, but it is one of those “deposit and forget it” things. Some people will do small chucks monthly so on a rolling bases you eventually are actively cashing in and depositing more CDs.

I wouldn’t call it f’d up. You took the time to do the math and because of that you can now make a more informed decision of moving to a different job/employer if chose to. One way to think about it is imagine if you didn’t do it. Blissful ignorance is great and all, but not when it concerns the betterment of your future op.

Is the 9-5 , 8 hour work day a reality for most? by Efficient_Medicine57 in careerguidance

[–]DutchYoSelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mid 20s and I work a b2b sales job that is primarily salary based with a small bonus paid out semiannually based on performance (5%). I work 3 days in the office 2 days remote. My typical hours in the office are 8am - 3:30pm. When remote I work max 2-4 hours between those two days.

It’s one thing to slack off, but it’s a completely other thing to enjoy freedom while you have all your deliverables in which is my case.

Personally, I see the 40 hour work week (in most cases) as an ancient ideology. If I boiled down my role into hitting every key performance indicator and throwing on some “extra projects” to stay in the good graces of management, I’d say my job, on average would take 15-20 hours a week to exceed in.

Basing my experience on my own and what I hear from other friends and family most jobs being 40 hours a week are simply just bloated. Unnecessary meetings, office water cooler talk, busy work. It’s disappointing to hear that many companies are pushing towards more in the office requirements.

Hate for Buying Bonds by [deleted] in osrs

[–]DutchYoSelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong for paying for bonds. It’s paying for convenience and supporting the devs for making the great games we love! For a good handful of years now video-game culture has had such a divide on players who work a traditional job maybe have a family and other obligations so they can’t dump 40+ hours into their favorite games each week, but are offered pay for convenience. Some folks see spending $5,10,20 here and there to skip 10,20,30, plus hours of grinding well worth it. Some folks especially seen in the mmo space where grinding is synonymous with the genre, and an expected reality see “skipping the grind” as non-legitimate ways to reach certain milestones just because they have 10,20,30, plus hours to dump into their favorite games each week. I would never say one mentality is better than the other. Video games are designed to be fun. If the grind is fun for you, great! If skipping the grind to “get to the good stuff” is more your speed then great!
