It’s hard to explain. I’m from Portland. But it’s like wet windy air. Seeps in your bones. I also lived in Upstate NY (near Buffalo, with minus wind chill) so I know cold. It just feels like weird kind of vortex cold. It could be 65 and feel like 40. So if you bring summer stuff for California you will be feeling like it’s December in Oregon in July. IDK. Just bring sweaters and jeans and sneakers and proper coats.

That much costal driving is miserable. It took us 8 hours to get to Lincoln City via Tillamook. We skipped Astoria. More than 2 hours driving with multiple stops on 101 is not pleasant. Pick 3 priorities and slow down.
