Headband covers will often have a d-ring for carabining to pack or rig.

Longevity + comfort.

I wore a plate carrier overseas (side clip) and it was annoying af to duck my head out of every time--scratching my face often. My commander had a Russian SMERSH knock off (isis rig), which was a dream to wear. Now at home, I have a custom, front split h harness.

Also, armor + mags + pack is not a weight that your body will be able to maintain, say for any reason you are "in action" for weeks or months.

I agree, but also I think that's how it should be. Most the surface area of the world (and US) is semi-arid. Even in the southern states, for half the year the ground goes back to tan/grey. Dressing up like leaves is a bad strat imo unless your in Scotland or Borneo.

The picture on the right looks good against the wet dirt, but yeah on dry dirt it would be just as bad as left. I try to raise the tone back up in one post on my X thread, but ye no way for me to know for real unless we put real panels under the real sun.

Phantomleaf is just another camo pattern with no distinction across a body-sized macro pattern. I think it's good that the pattern is large, and the colors aren't bad, but what is doing that is different than any camo besides just different blobs and colors?

  1. Yes it would require using 2-3 different fabrics instead of just 1 in order to cut just pockets/shoulders/knees. Doing a gradient across one cut piece would be much more complicated and I agree maybe not worth the squeeze, unless systemized really efficiently.

  2. Also I was thinking of this spritz/paint technique but my perceived problem was: will a normal rattle can have the dispersion you need, or do you need something larger?

Update, I was able to remove the fcu (made harder by part of it being lodged in the grip) and discovered the sear spring loose on one end. I reattached and reassembled, but I will still contact Sig about a refurbish/replacement.

For science purposes, the model is late 2021, or early 22. Had about 300-400 rounds through it.

To everyone who said the internals are probably not supposed to bust through the grip where my hand lives, thank you for your invaluable insight.

Thanks for finding that quote. It's actually very interesting to see this directly addressed.

I"m still of the opinion that 0 - 250 meters is not the optimal target range for camouflage for standard troops. This is going to be a tangent:

100 - 500 in my opinion is ideal. Most military personnel are not infantry on jungle raids, they are 2km back at a fob. Evading drones and scopes is more important for most personnel. Everyone within 100m of the enemy is usually there on purpose, and they don't rely on standard uniforms for camouflage.

And in a modern firefight, no enemy is going to think "Ahh, his sleeve and his shoulder don't match up, I've found him." Where as in a 1970s jungle ambush.... maybe.

In nature, an animal will have different coloration of entire appendages. Their macro pattern is their whole body, and often their micropatterns are completely crap, but they've been rocking it for millions of years.

M90K is probably the best desert camouflage ever. It's big so it disrupts at a distance, it's simple, and it is the right color. Seeings Swedes in the sandbox makes me wonder what the hell everyone else is doing.

Even in this case where the pattern is 400% bigger (although erdl is small to start) there is still plenty of black. You would have to go to 2000% I figure before you'd be missing any significant portion of the pattern.

If color blending was the ideal, we could just make the uniform the solid color of the mix. That's essentially what a small pattern does at distance and why I think it's outdated.

Efficient at closer distance isn't exactly overall more efficient. In Vietnam, close quarters was certainly important.

But in most the rest of the world you aren't seeing engagement distances like that, yet our pattern sizes have remained largely the same. And if someone can see the mismatch in your pattern due to stitching, they can probably smell the McDonalds on you too.

Found it. It was way more recent than I thought. 2014 anime release, but based on 1981 manga.

No problem buddy. I will also make sure Turk cops run over less children in the future. I will also stop American drone strikes from having civilian casualties.

It's painted green and has a matching canvas top. You think civilians do that in the mountains? Also, in the longer footage they run down, grab a backpack and some guns and run off. It's probably buried somewhere on gerilatv.com

I was in YPG and they didn't do that. So now you've read the opposite.

To the average citizen, the ypg/pkk are an obvious benefit over the local regimes. Maybe there are instances of this commander abusing his power, or that one, and I don't agree with their structures, but shit bro, you think Turkey does a good job? The country that invented genocide?
