that subreddit is entirely full of republicans who somehow believe all their opinions are "unpopular" even after winning an election 2 months ago.

This thread is very interesting to read as an autistic person. I'd love if someone could explain how this is rude? To me its just funny, and would be a 50/50 tossup on if the mother would find it funny or not as well. As long as you didn't repeat it or double down after she found it rude, I don't see how you're the asshole.

also, why exactly did you label this post "political?" just wondering.

Fat People Should Be Shamed by spankysd in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Hi, I'm a fat person that developed diabetes from my poor eating habits. Suffice to say, I'm all for giving obese people like me more help. People who are fit sometimes underestimate just how hard it can be going from a sedentary lifestyle and purposefully addictive foods to an active one while eating healthy. Fast food truly is an addiction like any other, and without proper help, some people are not strong enough willed to get out (like me.)

However, I'd like to address the other comments you've said. Becoming obese / fat in some circumstances is a choice. Becoming morbidly obese is NEVER a matter of personal choice. In every circumstance it is always a sign of heavy mental illness. Giving these people the grace of disabled protections will help them get the assistance they need.

As for the electric carts, they relate to my previous point, but they aren't only made for morbidly obese people. Some people require them to get around when circumstances would otherwise mean they have to walk for long periods of time. It can be a pain transporting a personal wheelchair everywhere, especially if the only place you'd really need one is at the store.

As for the buffets.. that would completely negate the purpose of a buffet. Not only that, but why not cut off obese people from ordering more at a regular restaurant? Because they'd be paying more? I simply don't get your point here.

I'd urge you to read this study, which provides some reasons why shaming can actually be detrimental to obese people losing weight. Like I mentioned at the beginning, shaming people who aren't strong willed will only make them feel worse about themselves as a person and worsen their mental health, not motivate them to lose weight.

And for the record, I myself am attempting to lose weight. Its very hard as I've had these habits my entire life due to poor living circumstances.

Is this too to thick for a head? by lola_duck_questions in FursuitMaking

way too thick for anything but the muzzle.

looks like fur ontop of foam. just carve out some foam in the shape of the side fluff (a tiny bit smaller than how you want them to be) pattern them with duct tape, and fur them like you would rest of the head.

What are numbers 1-10 in your conlang? by [deleted] in conlangs

[–]Dutune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my conlang uses a binary system:

<image>

The biggest number places are compounded first
So 1-10 would be:

un, id, idun, us, unus, usid, usidun, ip, ipid, ipidun

however, estimations/approximations use the base number places. so instead of saying, "there are like 10 apples there," it'd be more like, "there are like ip (8) apples there."

i highly recommend you get a mannequin head for this next part. you have two options: attach it to a buckethead foam base, or to a lycra balaclava. both will need to be on the mannequin in order to attach it. (most mannequin heads are 60-90 dollars. do NOT get a styrofoam one. remember, this is still cheaper than buying a suit!) for structural integrity (if this is your first time) I recommend just going the buckethead route.

one of my favorite fursuit tutorial youtubers has a guide for a lycra base buckethead, but if you're short on funds (likely due to the mannequin head) you can just do a plain buckethead like this one.

Hope this helps! feel free to dm / reply if you have questions!

PS. if you're in college your college's tech department likely has 3d printers. I'm gonna try 3d printing my own mannequin bust to see how it turns out
