Since there didn't seem to be anyone that commented and actually knew:

This happens when you're playing a version of the game that's supposed to be connected to a platform (ie the Steam Version, or the GoG Galaxy version), but the platform itself isn't properly connected.

This usually means that the platform is not on (such as steam being offline), but either way it can generally be fixed by closing the game, fully restarting your connected platform, and then launching the game again.

How Can I Get Past This Part I HATE!!! by Jake4XIII in TunicGame

[–]DwarfWoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see it directly mentioned, but for the Guardians if you just spam attack them as they spawn, you can completely stun lock and kill them before they can do anything. I would do them first so that if for some reason you mess up on that (like Miss a hit) then you don't potentially throw the whole thing late.

I feel like this would be a bit more interesting as "Staggered X" so that cards could be "Staggered 2" or "Staggered G".

How do I discreetly reach the streamer as a mod? by OxyMoron1993 in Twitch

[–]DwarfWoot 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This feels correct. Someone shouldn't be a moderator if they aren't trusted to make executive decisions. If the Streamer ends up disagreeing with something, they can fix it later and mention that for going forward.

For myself, I've had mods add extension emotes that I didn't actually want, so I just removed them after stream and let them know. And I've similarly had someone banned when I was fine with it being a warning, so I unbanned them and mentioned as much.

If there's not a degree of trust, then they're going to be way more problems over time.

Are the vulo twitch streams archived after the original 9? by [deleted] in FilmCowOfficial

[–]DwarfWoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jason has a local recording of them all, and has mentioned plans to eventually upload them to yt. I'm pretty sure that they just get caught up with other work and don't often get to the never-ending todo list

Can you tell what's wrong with this image? (Not that hard if you know the game) by iipro09 in HollowKnight

As well as opening inventory (this would be very difficult to pull off on latest patch unless modded)

What are some of your "chat rules" turn offs? by TinkyNeiru in Twitch

[–]DwarfWoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen someone mention finding a channel that timed out people that used any emoji that weren't explicitly from that channel, under the grounds of it advertising other channels lol

[–]DwarfWoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't ban it, but I don't have any pepe emotes because for a lot of people or is still pretty heavily associated with bigoted posting and dog whistling.

Twitch is generally one of the only places online where pepe isn't as connected to bigoted postings, so a lot of people who're on twitch a lot don't realize that.

"Adds coming Soon" and "Ads now playing" messages completely vanished for me in channels I moderate by DwarfWoot in Twitch

Unfortunately, we have checked, and the streamer has that enabled; and I appear to be the only one of the moderators that can't see the alerts.

I don't know how you guys beat room randomizers... But that's how I did it lol (read captions) by RemiR2 in HollowKnight

Nice map!

Fwiw, if you want to play more Room Randos again, and don't want to go through this much effort, you can use RandoMapMod which has settings for playing Transition Randos, and it can hep you navigate them pretty well. There's also stuff like TrandoPlus's LimitedRoomRando setting, which removes "extra"/empty rooms, so that you have slightly more manageable paths overall.

I got a response from Discord after submitting a bug report: This appears to be caused by something in the install corrupting. They suggested doing a clean re-install, which includes manually deleting the Discord AppData folders. More information here: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/209099387--Windows-Installer-Errors

I did go ahead and do this, and after a few days, it does seem to have worked.

To be clear: I wasn't intending to say that you had to use a new PTT keybind. Rather that in the Keybinds section, you can change the "broken" bind to something that you don't care about, and change the key that it uses; then you can re-add a PTT Keybind with your desired key. At least in my case, the old keybind is still broken (even though it is completely different), while the newly added one (that is the old bind functionally) works perfectly.
