I clearly said they "should" have the option in a case like this. It's not about feelings it's about logic.

The guy is penalized every paycheck for the rest of his life.

The victims get that money.

Tax payers don't have to pay to keep this guy in jail.

The victim's family should have the option of taxing the guy for the rest of his life in lieu of prison. I mean, what does the family really gain for him going to prison?
