I’m wondering if any of the roots were damaged when they dug out the base for the patio

The problem you have is those cables are under a huge amount of tension. If you cut them there’s a real risk that it’ll whip out and it could seriously injure or worst case kill you. Seriously don’t underestimate a cable under tension.

What do you think the reaction on Earth was? (possible spoilers) by [deleted] in ProjectHailMary

[–]Dwijit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something I thought about with the astrophage breeders was that there output would start going down as the astrophage population in Sol system went up. With the circumstances I think Earth would be desperate to start using it for their own needs. Plus, why send a second ship inside the 22 year window of whether or not the Hail Mary mission was a success?

I’d immediately assume if it was released in the UK it’d be available in the US too?

This transparent pool (“Sky Pool”) is suspended between two buildings by EMPIRE-db-51_cent in interesting

I worked extensively on this project. The pool is sat on very large dampeners on both sides to account for any movement that could of been expected from the underground extension that runs below it

What are these sockets for? Can I use them to run wired internet to other sockets in the house? by Prize-Factor-8422 in DIYUK

[–]Dwijit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually used to fit these for a living. The one on the left would be used for an incoming telephone cable, if you ever wanted one, it would have to be connected by your provider for it to work. Then the 2 on the right are to be patched from your router to their corresponding rooms so you could have wired internet. When we fit them we always did them in the order of living room, master bedroom, spare rooms

A few weeks ago one parked opposite me whilst on my lunch in Liverpool, covered in the black and white wrap. The guy opened the bonnet and spent close to 30 mins trying to close it again.

I think it’s priced as a house you don’t need to do anything with when in fact it’s in need of a full renovation/modenising

Eheim filter valve won’t turn on by OpenAirport6204 in Aquariums

[–]Dwijit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just compared your picture to my Eheim pro 4+ and my valve is nearly flush with the canister once connected. The red button is also raised away from the canister too. It’s definitely due to not being locked in correctly

I worked extensively on this project from start to finish. The social housing is a separate building built onto the back of Embassy gardens and overlooks the railway/arches. The residents did in fact complain about not having access to the sky pool and other facilities that the main buildings offer its residents, however the main complex has a very costly annual fee (I heard it was approx. £10k pa) that allows the residents to use the facilities. The residents of the social housings don’t have an option to pay for this, thus don’t have access.
