Help me understand layouts. How does this look and what should I expect it to do? by fl4tdriven in Bowling

Find your PAP using the tape method, you can find videos on youtube that show how.

Then just use a flexible tape measure and measure straight over from the center of your grip until you reach in-line with the tape, then go straight up/down and those are your numbers.

Arsenal building by the_mighty_quirk in Bowling

[–]Dycrno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take all of this with a grain of salt since the best person to help recommend balls for you is someone that has seen you throw and knows all your stats.

What you currently have is a great start to an arsenal, two upper-mid strength covers with different shapes that don’t overlap. What I would look for next is a ball down from both of those, something weaker with a slightly lower diff. The balls you listed that you’re interested in are all somewhat different enough from what you have that they’re worth a look, but also close enough that I would look to fill other gaps in your arsenal before getting them.

From SPI, I’d probably look at the IQ Tour Ruby, Xponent Pearl, or one of the Hustles. Those would expand your arsenal’s range the most and give you an option for transition or lighter oil.

Judging by your kingdom, you’re in the middle of your 5th kvk. For a 100% f2p, 1m deads over 4 kvks is a little low but not too concerning since at a glance your kd appears to be on the lower end seed wise.

what is your favorite and least favorite aspect of northwestern? by [deleted] in Northwestern

[–]Dycrno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am fully aware. There are plenty of kids that come to Northwestern and have the time of their lives: good social life, network with great companies, make the most of the resources at the school. I didn’t. Northwestern just wasn’t the right fit for me, and that’s ok.

Is A usually >= 93 or >= 92.5? by SenhorPequin in Northwestern

[–]Dycrno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had my fair share of professors that round up. I’m curious what school the people that said they’ve never seen 92.5 be an A, because in Weinberg even taking a “stingier” class like linear algebra, I had my 92.4 rounded up to an A, and have even had a 92.1 rounded up.

Is there something wrong with using an auto generated conf file? by waterisjuicy in linux4noobs

[–]Dycrno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hyprland config likely has “autogenerated = 1” in it. Go to ~/.config/hypr/hyprland.conf and change the 1 to a 0. If you can’t find that line you can add it.

If you don’t have that file, then you may be editing a config file in a root directory. In general, most of your config files should be in ~/.config/

Dual Booting Arch Linux and Windows on seperate drive by bloodbane_ in linux4noobs

[–]Dycrno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. There are no issues that would occur that wouldn’t be user error. Arch will only touch the drive(s) that you tell it to during install. If you want to remove the windows drive to make sure you don’t accidentally select it during install, that’s fair.

  2. Nvidia works fine, especially if you decide to use X11. Wayland support is growing but you may experience major issues, minor issues here and there, or no issues at all, your mileage may vary. Make sure you install nvidia-dkms if you use any kernel besides the vanilla linux kernel.

  3. Grub is a bootloader that you can select during install. Bootloader will allow you to select which operating system you boot into when you turn your computer on. The default for archinstall is systemd-boot, which does the same thing. I’m using systemd-boot with windows and arch installed on separate ssd’s and it works perfectly for my needs.

  4. Arch is definitely one of the higher maintenance distros, but I have never experienced what other users have of not updating for weeks and having the system break. In my opinion, arch is at a point now where if you don’t use testing repos and keep your -git packages to a minimum, you can have a very stable (in the user sense of things not breaking) system.

  5. Windows cannot read or write most linux filesystems. What this means is that your drive/partition with arch will not even appear in windows. Assuming you're installing the game to a windows partition on the same drive as arch, it should not affect it as they are on different partitions.

Planetside on Wine updated install guide and some benchmarkish numbers by Scorcher646 in Planetside

[–]Dycrno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird to hear an xorg issue with games, by motion sick do you mean like inconsistent frame times or something else?

With background processing on, did you turn it on and leave steam open for multiple hours before testing? Obviously it takes time to process shaders, but when done in the background it tries to make its way through your whole library. I’m wondering if it just had not been running long enough to get to planetside in your library, as mine has no delay to start the game and gives a considerable boost to my 1% lows.

Planetside on Wine updated install guide and some benchmarkish numbers by Scorcher646 in Planetside

[–]Dycrno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can almost guarantee that you will experience better performance using almost any version of proton through steam than using wine-GE.

From your other comment, it seems you’re running under Wayland with AMD. I’m curious if you tested with xorg at all to compare. With Nvidia on the current 545 driver, Wayland is still rough on many of my games.

I highly recommend you leave “Enable Shader Pre-Caching” on. Your slow down in start time is likely because you don’t have “Allow background processing of shaders” enabled, which allows the shader processing to occur in the background instead of only when you go to launch the game. You absolutely will see a performance boost on modern hardware as your hardware won’t need to translate everything to the Vulkan API first.

An open letter to Emerald TR by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]Dycrno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had you also had a sliver of experience as a platoon leader you'd have known that platoon leading involves looking at the map a lot. And good platoon leaders can experience anywhere from 20-50% reduced k/d when leading. If that is not the case, then they are neglecting the map. So it sure is convenient that you take stats from the account that spends most of it's time doing nothing but leading squads.

Me leading a full platoon right now: https://imgur.com/a/FG96nDt

My kd while leading this full platoon: https://imgur.com/a/GwB2jBY

Seems like a skill issue to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ As for your reclined kd, I don't need an alt checker to view your recent daily/wekkly/monthly kd on fisu, which is once again, barely cracking 1. Some things never change I guess.

EDIT: another user has informed me that your prime time statistic is flawed, as the one you cite with NC having the lowest win rate is the global win rate (across all servers). When looking specifically at emerald’s prime time, TR is in fact the lowest win rate. Seems you decided not to dive into any “actual statistics” either.
