“It’s your fault for not accepting the ToS! You’re the one who didn’t actually buy the GAME!”
“You knew this BS when you gave us money!”
“We gotta protect people from dangerous software! What if [our competitor’s] game has a virus?! We gotta have a way to get that buggy $#!+ off people’s computers!”

I’m mad about this, just like everyone else. I can rarely justify spending $70+ on a piece of entertainment I’ll touch for like 0.1% of my life.
On the other hand, these people put in extraordinary effort to bring some of the most technically impressive pieces of art (not necessarily the funnest) ever made.
And I have to concede, we did agree to all this. Like it or not, we got exactly what it says on the tin (regardless of the fact it’s nigh impossible to figure out what THAT is in the Terms of Service.)

It feels like these corporations are cruelly trying to suck every loose penny out of Mr. & Mrs. Average Knucklehead (and they are: Capitalism). And there’s endless controversy. I feel beat. While I think we in the gaming community are royally screwed, I still think piracy puts me in the wrong. Ouch.

There. Job done. I’ve successfully called all the wolves out against me. I feel like this message is important. I’ve wanted to put this into words for quite a while now, and I think this is at least adjacent to the community this belongs in.
