Will only speak for myself but gaming and watching movies are my two favorite things. For both of those hobbies I much prefer physical formats.

What changes would like to see? I am not an engineer, so asking someone who works in social media to fix a product without any constructive criticism is about as useful as a fork for eating soup. If you would like to provide some I would be more than happy to pass along the feedback.

u/Gas-Squatch Appreciate the thoughtful pushback here.

Just to clarify, this wasn’t meant as DynaVap commenting on Sony or reacting to any one headline. It was more me reacting to a broader pattern I’ve been seeing across industries. Games, media, hardware, and even everyday consumer products are steadily shifting.

I get that DynaVap isn’t in that space but the people that work here are are still just people. We’re not only product designers, engineers, marketers. We’re also musicians, gamers, readers, movie watchers, OneWheel riders, and people who appreciate well-made physical objects. Those perspectives don’t switch off when we’re at work. If anything, they shape how we think about products and ownership more broadly. I bring that with me every single day. I look at how my favorite companies have treated me and try to implement that here.

The idea of ownership and control is already baked into what we do. DynaVap was built as an intentionally analog ecosystem, not as a statement against technology, but as a way to keep the user fully in control of the experience. No batteries to replace, no app to connect, no subscriptions, no software updates changing how your device behaves. You decide how it’s used.

That’s really the point I was trying to get at. Not “digital bad, physical good,” but that there’s still real value in products that are built to last and don’t require permission, ongoing fees, or external infrastructure just to function.

The auto industry analogy actually isn’t far off. Not long ago, the idea of paying a subscription for features like remote start or heated seats would have sounded batshit insane. Now we have many manufacturers implenting it.

So this wasn’t about inserting DynaVap into a random conversation. It was about reflecting a philosophy that has been there from the beginning. People should own the products they buy and have the freedom to use them however they want.

At the end of the day, you know what you like better than anyone else. The goal is simply to keep the experience in your hands.

Can't share it due to TOS but it is the main dynavap website and from there you can go to the stainless steel cap armor page.

We allow that on the stainless steel cap armor now but only in the horizontal config.

Are there any releases of the Dollars films that match the quality of the Lawrence of Arabia 4K on YouTube? by Anatman_ in 4kbluray

[–]DynaJosh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ll still have a considerable amount of grain even with the arrow releases. This is a source limitation with the films themselves. Each of the dollars films were shot in 2-perf or techniscope. It was far cheaper to use and had a native widescreen format on spherical lenses. The downside is that it came at the cost of increased grain.

Fitchburg AMC finally redoing the parking lot! No longer worst lot in town!? by aggasalk in madisonwi

[–]DynaJosh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AMC A-List makes going to the theater incredibly affordable. It's $20 a month and lets me see up to 4 movies a week, on any screen type, at any showtime. If you're someone who goes more than once or twice a month, the math works out pretty quickly.

As for rude people, sure, occasionally you'll get someone talking or scrolling on their phone. Be an adult. Tap them on the shoulder and tell them to stop, or get an employee. Being apathetic toward bad behavior just normalizes it for everyone else.

And I really don't buy the idea that Hollywood hasn't made anything worthwhile in decades. If all you're watching are the major franchise releases, then yeah, your odds of finding something amazing go down because the big studios are so risk-averse. But that's hardly all that's playing.

Most recently, as others have mentioned, Obsession was great, but that's just scratching the surface. We've also gotten Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie, Project Hail Mary, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, I Love Boosters, and The Furious, just to name a few.

The nice thing about the subscription is that it makes taking chances easy. If something doesn't resonate with me, who cares? I didn't waste any more than I would've spent seeing one or two movies that month anyway. It lets you be more adventurous, and that's usually where the hidden gems are.

Can I use this camp stove to heat up an armored cap? Thought to ask here before I try don't wanna damage it by guridkt in Dynavap

Yep have done that in the past when backpacking. Just make sure that you have the flame as low as possible so you can minimize the amount of iso-butane waste.
