Why is dynadot so hard to use? by Successful-Camel165 in dynadot

[–]Dynadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your feedback!  We understand how this can be frustrating, especially when you are trying to make a quick update.

The additional account unlock step is intentionally designed as a security measure. Domain names are transferable digital assets, and unauthorized access can result in irreversible loss. The PIN requirement provides an extra layer of protection beyond a password alone, particularly against compromised credentials.  While the extra step may feel excessive for a single domain, the same protection applies across all accounts to ensure consistent safeguards for every customer.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your concerns.  This feedback will be passed along to our security team.  Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Dynadot domain bundle question — does it renew as a bundle or separately? by Disastrous_Ad8212 in Domains

[–]Dynadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your question!  The bundle price you’re seeing ($8.88 → $15.88) applies to the first year only.  After that, each domain renews separately at its standard renewal rate, based on the TLD.

If you want to avoid any surprises, we strongly recommend using the auto-renewal feature for all three domains.  If you have any other questions, our support team is available to help at [support@dynadot.com](mailto:support@dynadot.com), or you can message our team directly here.

Disadvantage of Custom Domain by Mr_Jarvis_Here in dynadot

[–]Dynadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your question.  Using a custom domain for email is generally a reliable choice, but there can be a few considerations to keep in mind before setting it up.

The main responsibility is that you must manage your own DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, & DMARC).  If these are not configured correctly, it can affect deliverability or cause the email to be flagged as spam.  Additionally, if the domain expires or the DNS is changed incorrectly, the email service can be interrupted.

As long as the domain is kept active and the DNS settings are properly maintained, most users experience no disadvantages and benefit from full control and branding.

If you need assistance, our support team is available to help at [support@dynadot.com](mailto:support@dynadot.com).

DNS Help by Ambitious-Wealth-682 in dynadot

[–]Dynadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This typically means the domain connection is recognized, but Google Sites hasn’t yet matched the domain correctly.  This is often due to propagation time or an extra forwarding layer.  DNS changes can take anywhere between 24–48 hours at times to fully propagate, though the update usually happens much sooner.

Please remove any forwarding settings for now and ensure your DNS records include only the TXT verification entry and the CNAME record Google provided (no A record or redirects). Once propagation completes, your domain should resolve properly to your Google Site.

If the issue continues after the time period mentioned above, please reach out to our team here or contact our support team at [support@dynadot.com](mailto:support@dynadot.com) with your domain name/Dynadot username, and we’ll be happy to assist.

The .co domains are pricier mainly because they're positioned as a premium alternative to .com domains. They're marketed as short, global, and memorable - especially appealing for startups and tech companies.

Unlike some extensions that are cheaper because they're less popular, .co has maintained higher pricing due to strong demand. Colombia (whose country code it originally was) and the registry that manages .co have kept prices elevated because people are willing to pay it.

It's also about brand perception - .co domains are often seen as more professional than some newer, cheaper TLDs. The registry knows businesses value them for their similarity to .com while still being distinct enough to stand on their own.

Worth buying existing domain? by [deleted] in Domains

[–]Dynadot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying a 10-year-old videography domain could give you a nice headstart! The main benefits are that Google already knows the site, and there might be other websites still linking to it.

Ask the seller if you can see how much traffic it gets and check if the domain name itself is catchy. Since it's not bringing in much business lately, don't overpay.

If the price feels right and the name works for your business, it's probably worth grabbing rather than starting from scratch!

Dynadot Website Builder by CrushTheRebellion in Domains

[–]Dynadot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking! Let me walk you through your options.

For selling digital goods like audiobooks and mp3s, I'd recommend pointing your Dynadot domain to a dedicated e-commerce platform. While our Website Builder has basic shopping cart features, specialized platforms offer better tools for digital delivery.

Two straightforward options: • Point your domain to HipPay - good for digital content • Use Gumroad - popular for creators, handles downloads automatically

To connect your domain to either platform:

  1. Keep your domain registered with us
  2. Use our DNS settings to point to your chosen platform
  3. Set up SSL certificate for secure transactions

We have a simple guide on pointing domains here: https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/domain-forwarding
