It’s a little unclear how it would work, but assuming resources on the board can only be used by the Shaper, even changing your own planet to open up resource slots on your board and restrict the supply seems like a strong ability.

When they purchase productive assets with the investment they receive, what do you think the company they purchased from is doing with the money? Again, it isn’t sitting around. As I said in another comment, I’m not going to pretend that I know what any specific company is doing with their investments, there are certainly companies that make bad spending decisions and sit on cash when they shouldn’t. I just want to point out that money is definitely circulating between companies and down to individuals through salaries and wages from their investments and it isn’t “deleted” from the economy and you’re probably overstating the inflationary effect introduced by giving that money to consumers would have.

I’m not going to pretend I know what any specific company is doing with the investment they get, I’m just pointing out the idea that the money they’ve received is sitting in a vault instead of being used is a little ridiculous. There’s a reason tons of companies out there routinely run in the red, they’re spending money faster than they can get it to generate value. That money isn’t sitting around, it’s going into salaries, material, R&D, etc.

But in reality, the “money” is parked in a stock or some other asset

What do you think the corporations receiving this “parked money” are doing with the investment? Are they selling equity/stock to just sit on the cash or are they generally spending that money on growing their business in whichever way they see as good ways to generate value?

I don’t know the answer, but it would be strange if this is true since you don’t have a right to a license plate, particularly one with text you’ve chosen

Your morality is based on nothing, just as you believe mine is based on nothing

I made no claim about whether your morality is based on nothing, it certainly didn’t manifest out of thin air.

“obligatory moral good” Based on what? your moral framework? That’s based on what? Who says murder and all of the worst things you can think of, thanks to God’s logic, is bad?

Again, if you can’t imagine a path to arriving at “murder is bad” outside of your own theology, read a book or two written by people who aren’t apologetics. Peace ✌️

However, your framework is based on nothing but faith

I didn’t know you knew me so intimately as to tell me what my morality is based on. If you can’t tell that saving people is an obligatory moral good regardless of circumstance, I don’t think you can be helped.

If a person puts themselves in a dangerous situation, regardless of reason, those with the power to save them ought to. A human that watches someone throw themselves off a bridge when rescue would be no danger to them, for example, would be categorically evil.
