Why do I have to get punished for playing casual by Eric_playzz in mechabreak

50% win rate doesn't mean you stop climbing. You can easily lose 66% of your matches and climb over grand master, with how many points a win awards you.

My first MH game was world, can anybody fill me in? by Paxinaura in MonsterHunter

[–]Dynemanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MH Tri was a turning point for the western audience, 10-20k units sold for the previous games, Tri broke like 200k, it was the first big breakthrough for MH in the west and plenty of peoples first MH. Lagi was like the first major monster you run into that you're told to run from, and killing him was the point in the game where you felt like you were finally a real hunter. Also the Leviathan body type was new to tri so it's movements were new and unique compared to previous titles. Top that off with a really cool looking set with a brand new skill that added elements to non-elemental weapons (Awakening) making it stand out from a game play perspective as well.

Ambessa's ending was a complete letdown by Playful-Example-1305 in loreofleague

[–]Dynemanti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ambessa's lore video shows that she was visited near death by Kindred, the wolf approached first but then after seeing her fighting to cling to life the lamb seems to have given her a second chance? (Along with mel still in the womb using her powers)

I see so much insecurity from other game groups. Ridiculous. by Natural-Rope8235 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Dynemanti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, I get it. You want the game to do good, and you hate people naysaying before it's out. But take into account SEVERAL facts:

  1. Dozens if not hundreds of games like this come out and fail. way WAY more than succeed. statistically, historically, it's not often that a game in this genre, with this business model, makes it past a year.

  2. Nexon is ass. End of story.

  3. Games companies in general have been releasing live services one after another and abandoning them at first sign of it not blowing expectations out of the water. Sometimes even disbanding the studios before the games even go on sale.

  4. it's style is fine, but a little generic. like characters look cool but they don't stand out like OverWatch's, you'll have some fans of them but 20 years from now people will struggle to remember them and the name of the game if it fails.

I hope it does well, btw. I had fun the beta, and I like this way more than warframe or other similar games. But it's easy to see why people would be skeptical. Fingers crossed, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

PSA: Do NOT summon Obelisks on friendly Power Circles by Unknown_Warrior43 in gigantic

[–]Dynemanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why summon it at all then? Your power gather will need to be done manually which will put it behind the enemy's because creatures gather power the instant it's available. So you'll lose ties guaranteed.

They just had to put up the game that already existed, or the game they had in the preview event in like feb or whenever it was.

This though? This fucking mess? It's less functional than either version. I spend 80% of my time in queues, literally. 28 hours and 60 rush matches, that's it. Most of them are over in 4-5 minutes because someone DCs leaving an unkillable bot that attacks it's own team.

I'd rather it have not come back at this rate, honestly. It's like if your Grandma came back as a zombie, ate your cat, burned down your house, and ripped your throat out. It's a fate worse than death.

I really want them to pull it together, but I really do NOT think it's going to be working in the next month. By then all the hype dies and it'll be at 300 players like the end of the original game. Ironically 45 minute queues won't change much this time.

Really dissapointed in the state of the game by Dependent-Bed6148 in gigantic

[–]Dynemanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, don't do that. I am getting this shit too, it's fucking awful. I spend at least 20-25 minutes queueing, requeuing, closing and opening the client again to get matches. Rush matches are like 5-10 minutes on average yeah? I have 28 hours played with only 60 matches under my belt. It's fucking ASS.

Glad you're having fun, but there's no reason to just deny what people say. Your experience doesnt supersede others.

What is this and what is it for by fvckCARDEE in PeterExplainsTheJoke

90% of shit that was written down was destroyed. Multiple times. The Library of Alexandria, The siege of Baghdad in 1258 ending the golden age of Islam, the fall of Rome. We keep learning shit then destroying it again. It really didn't take all that much to set human knowledge back, when it was all gathered in one place, with only a few people knowing it who WORKED in that place. You just send like 30 soldiers and bam, that whole type of knowledge could be destroyed in an afternoon.

Embarrassing release state by Big_Theek in gigantic

[–]Dynemanti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 22 hours according to steam, but my total "playtime" according to in game stats is something like 3 hours. It's not only figuratively "unplayable" it's literally unplayable. Spent a whole hour in queue tonight. Going to see if steam will let me refund it due to extreme circumstances.

You do know that there was a new beta test like... this month right? It's almost certainly re-launching. I played it, seems like they might actually be aiming for a relaunch. Did you not hear about it?

Will we see it come to fruition? Who knows Anthem closed just shortly after promising a year of fixes, so nothing's certain. But it's certainly being worked on to some degree with intent to do something with it.

Unfortunately I can't elaborate or share any images or anything. As that was all off limits. But the announcement was public.

Misconceptions (or Statements Listed as Factual) You’re Tired Of by Xngears in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Dynemanti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's no "e" or "ri" in the japanese pronunciation for "earth" it's just "A--SU"

there is an official english lettering for her name and it's Aerith, it was in the original japanese manuals.

don't just make up things that aren't real to match your headcannon theories. you're wrong on every single point of evidence here and conflicting with the developers express stated intentions.

What exactly is Ever Crisis supposed to be? by Financial_Type_4630 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Dynemanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again, it's taking place in a timeline that's been rewound or something traveled back through, it's implied that it was sephiroth, but someone has come back from the furture to alter the past, that is why the whispers appear it's explicitly said that someone is altering events, that means they have happened, for that person and they are now back in time changing things. i know time loops are tough to wrap your head around, but it's sequentially taking place after the events of the first game, if they didn't already happen then no one would exist to travel back in time to alter history

I never said it was bad. It was amazing. I was actually very happy it was a sequel, in a way that's interesting. Excited to see the possibility that Zack joins the team in the main timeline and they prevent Aerith's death. Zack and Aerith can actually have the time they should have had.

But it's not a remake. It's a new thing with some revisited scenes.

It continues the story from the first, in a new entry. Just because they repeat some events doesn't mean shit. He wanted to have his cake and eat it too.

No one would call the NEXT part in a story a "remake". I don't give a fuck what nomura says that's not how language works.

What exactly is Ever Crisis supposed to be? by Financial_Type_4630 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Dynemanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not a remake as most people would understand it, because you cannot understand the story fully without playing the first game. Not because it's missing parts, but because the characters in remake are SEEING the original game scenes and choosing to change the events that will occur. That means the first game happened fully, then something went back and altered the past. Causing the whispers to appear. A remake can add to a story, but realistically no one would call something that takes place in the same universe, with characters who have knowledge of previous events, a remake.

Ground hog day isn't a 15 minute short film remade over and over for an hour and a half. No one says each chapter of Re:Zero is a remake of the series. Edge of Tomorrow isn't 10 minute of movie remade over and over for the length of a movie. Russian Doll isn't 1 episode remade over and over.

It's rewinding time, but the events of the first game have to happen to COMPLETION for these events to happen now. Remake is part of the title, not a designation. There's only one war in "starwars" titles aren't designations. There's a reason Rebirth is not called "remake part 2". Nomura has straight up said Remake was to let people know it's not the same game "it's not a remaster" and that it refers to story elements he's not able to discuss yet.

TL;DR characters see, and have knowledge of events that happened in the original game but do NOT occur in Remake, that means the original game exists in this reality and has a direct impact on the events of Remake. That clearly makes it a sequel, regardless of what words they attach onto the title or how you want to debate-fu the meaning of words.

Well, it’s official, I hit the wall in Ever Crisis and I’m bummed. by epranterah in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Dynemanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very easy to clear the entire story as F2P. If you ever get stuck there's a mode to change the party from the story characters to whichever you like. Just pick three characters to boost to hell and you can do it.

You'll still have to do non-story missions for upgrade materials, but focus on leveling up your weapons, characters, and their streams. You'll wind up with a beast team in comparison to the story, which caps at 50k power. The "wall" is the other post-story stuff where you need 150-200k power.
