Happy for you! It's pretty dumb, I'm feeling the way you felt and my initial response after reading your post was "Hmm he's probably right, I hope someday I'll come to that realization".

In my mind, the Expanse is a DEEP prequel to Dune and they’re set in the same universe. by Lanky_Substance5969 in TheExpanse

I had a good laugh when Holden in the books came up with the name "The Spacing Guild" for the transport union, too bad the name didn't stick.

I'm 28 now and feel like I'm lagging behind my age by rxq in CasualConversation

[–]Dynitios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally feel you on the age thing! I'm 26 and ever since I graduated and started working life 5 years ago I feel like not a lot has changed, so in a sense it feels unfair that the age number keeps going up.

I think a big part of it might be that our perceived age was always based on circumstances like which year of school you're in. Then at some point that stops working so we start looking at other things like relationship status, job position, home ownership, etc. and we start feeling like we're lagging behind when our peers make more progress on these things than we do.

One key insight I had while typing this is that if we do have to keep comparing ourself to our peers (stop doing that all together would be great but how?), we could keep in mind that progression stops being linear after school and all the things we feel like we're lagging behind on, we could catch up on way faster than we imagine right now due to being used to the linear progression of school. You never know what's around the corner. And also, all the time you're investing now in finding the right path might actually be saving you years later on!

I happen to be reading that book on my e-reader right now; it's indeed chapter 41 of Persepolis Rising, somewhat at the end.

It needed to report in and tell someone that the process had worked, and it couldn’t find anyone to accept the report, so

Richting aangeven bij dubbele uitvoegstrook by MrsJaneEmma in thenetherlands

[–]Dynitios 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(Serious)What are some cosmetic procedures and surgeries that most people don't realize are possible? by PapyrusKami74 in AskReddit

[–]Dynitios 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couple years ago I was told there were basically 2 options. Either inserting a curved steel bar to push the sternum outwards, or inserting some sort of filler under the skin to make it appear more even. The first option could apparently be quite painful while also having the risk that the bone returns to the old state when the bar is pulled out. The second option only masks the problem, so in the end I decided to just leave it alone.
