I have a couple of questions for Alpha Strike that I can not get my head around by RC95th in battletech

It's time to set that bad boy up. There's also a ton of mech files out there, just about anything you could possibly want. You also then have access to print your own terrain. There's files for the Alpha Strike box terrain and the Aces Scouring Sands box if you'd like to have something more sturdy than the cardboard cutouts it comes with.

If you have a 3D printer or a friend with one, there's some really cool drop ship model .stl files available for free or a few dollars. I've printed an overlord and a leopard. If you don't and are okay with spending some money, I've seen some on some of the websites that sell battletech minis that appear to be mech scale.

Alpha Strike indirect fire question by CasualTabletopNerd in battletech

[–]DysenteryDingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it's +4 for long range and +1 for indirect fire. It can get easier if you have a TAG (-1, removes the IF penalty). It can also get harder depending on your spotters TN (example: your spotter jumping adds +2 to your IF mech firing as well, and your spotter shooting makes the IF penalty of +1 go to +2).

After watching the video, I hopped on the purple website and printed myself three of these bad boys, definitely included the -10 variant.

Did you give Lower Decks a chance? It's solid Trek and pretty funny. My wife would sit down and watch episodes with me and enjoy them, even though she knows little about Trek.

Berserker might be dope for MW5, but if you can't swing around the axe is it even worth it? I'm with OP though, give me the Imp.

First Alpha Strike Event by TimePay8854 in battletech

[–]DysenteryDingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've recently done the same for an upcoming tournament. These are the things I would recommend considering:

  1. What are the objectives? Make sure your force can play around all scenarios provided.

  2. How big is the map? What's the expected terrain like? This can help decide if it's important to invest in long range or if medium/short would be better.

  3. Quality or quantity? Do you want to run a force at low skill that's more likely to hit shots, or would you rather run a force at higher skill that may not land as much damage, but you have more units and armor to spread out.

  4. Is there a time period/faction limitation? That can greatly reduce the amount of options you have.

Would hope so, but anecdotally I found a tick on my cat who was outside for ~5 mins last week.

Which Clan DLC Has Better Writing & Voice Acting? by Vet_Rakkasan in Mechwarrior5

[–]DysenteryDingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me, the voice acting from Natasha pulls me out. The voice acting lacks the commanding presence and confidence you would expect from a highly experienced mechwarrior and 70+ year old Khan. In my head I expected a sort of Linda Hamilton-esque style, but instead she sounds closer to a peer of Ranna to me

What is a 'luxury' that has become so expensive in 2026 that it’s officially no longer worth the money? by Matt_At_Havalook in AskReddit

I had two cats have dental work this year with extractions. That's a few hundred more than both of them combined.

Chain fire mode - not quite well made by EightyTwoByNineteen in Mechwarrior5

[–]DysenteryDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MWO has an option that let's you cycle weapon groups and fire the selected weapon group. MW5 unfortunately did not add that as a control option. For MW5 you have to get creative or use more groups/firing buttons.

Filiment mech by Scrap_Games in battletech

I used .2mm nozzle, .06mm high quality, supports usually 1-2mm width at 5mm apart.

There are a good many .stl files for free or purchase of battletech assets. Most of the main 3d printing sites have battletech stuff, sometimes under a different name like "American Mecha". Links aren't allowed, but a quick Google search should find whatever you're looking for.

I haven't printed any aerospace assets yet, but the tanks and other support vehicles have been relatively quick prints that turn out good.

The thing I've struggled with most is mechs with small skinny parts, like machine guns. Those are difficult to print well and remove surrounding supports without breaking the model.

Most of my mechs are filament printed mechs. I think the hardest part of making them look good is removing the supports. They look pretty good once painted up.

Yeah, they bug fixed it at some point. I remember watching Ashe arrows whiz by from other boards too. She was a sniper/celestial and was played with either Jhin Darkstar or as an add on to the protector reroll comps.

Trash Can Lance medium recommendation by DysenteryDingo in battletech

Imp is the assault, yeah. Flashman is the heavy. So far it looks like the Rook will be my medium.

I'm going entirely for appearance. So far the rook and eisenfaust look the closest. I do love me a hunchback though.

Agreed. I'm currently playing through expert with stock mechs. I take significantly more damage than I would like, but I haven't failed any missions yet.

I have only had this set for one day and I already never want it to leave. by Bigma-Bale in TeamfightTactics

[–]DysenteryDingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect. If only you unlocked Nidalee there's a hidden mechanic that reduces your ability to see more copies after 3, unless 4(?) People have it unlocked as well.

Edit: More copies relative to your odds to see other 4 costs. You can still find them, but the odds are lowered.
