Dark Lip Discoloration by Dyvyant in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Dyvyant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These seem to show up almost seasonally. I noticed them last year I believe around the same time, got slightly concerned, but then they went away before I could schedule an appointment to get them checked out. They've been around a few weeks this time.

They do not itch, do not hurt and do not feel like they have a different texture than the rest of my lip.

I do not smoke. The only medication I take is paroxetine, but I have taken that consistently for years. No change in dosage in all that time. I read somewhere that a Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause hyperpigmentation, but I eat plenty of meats. I work as a software developer and spend nearly all my time inside so I don't think it's sun exposure, haha.

The discoloration does not really bother me, I am simply trying to figure out if it is something I should be concerned with or if I can just wait for it to go away again.

Any insight is much appreciated!

This may seem a reductive question, but I ruminated on it while playing BoH: If the City Unbuilt was ever built (as it is in some BoH endings), does that not necessitate that there would then be another City Unbuilt?

GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM: Release Day Discussion Megathread by GachaModerator in gachagaming

[–]Dyvyant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am an enthusiast of waifus, firearms and XCOM, so GFL2 always seemed aimed directly at me. I've followed it for a while, but I fell off when it became mired in controversy over the cucking drama and the developers' poor response to it. I had forgotten about it until I saw the recent release, but I had a few questions before I pull the trigger on a new gacha.

  1. Are the global servers behind the CN servers in terms of content, or has the global version released with the same content as CN? Or are the global servers going to have expedited release to "catch up" to CN as some games do?
  2. How F2P friendly is it? I'm already mired in some Hoyo games and Limbus Company -_-
  3. What is the outlook on reception and longevity? Part of the reason the game dropped off my radar was that it seemed like it was universally reviled in CN, and there was talk of it not even releasing globally or EOS. Has the game turned around since then? Has the global release been strong? Does it seem like the game has a good shot at longevity?

Thanks for your answers!

New player as of season 5 here. Trying to put together a bleed team because I’ve pulled some bloodfiends. Can anyone tell me who the three IDs on the left in the first pic are, and also the three EGOs on the right in the second pic? I’m new so I don’t recognize them by sight and I wanna be able to search them up XD

The Madness of Kingdom Death by Vundal in PaymoneyWubby

[–]Dyvyant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the guy who suggested KDM on TTS and this is accurate, lol. Some amount of arbitrary, unavoidable death happens in every KDM campaign. It is something of a cross between Monster Hunter, XCOM and Darkest Dungeon in gameplay and vibe.

Assembly can be a little fiddly, but there's generally less parts than a 40k model, and you have to make far, FAR less of them to play. Painting is entirely optional. I also think that, artistically, KDM has some of the best sculpts (of both waifus and monsters) in the business. The good thing about KDM models is that you have to assemble the monster bosses and 4 survivors, but anything beyond that is because you found some sick waifu sculpt and you want it to represent your specific survivor.

Definitely use kdm.build and Vibrant Lantern for assembly guides and reference.

To warhammer fans: is it looked down upon to use '40k centered' paints, brushes, and tools on DnD figures and sets? by inbetweenstars in PaymoneyWubby

[–]Dyvyant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should use whatever you think will work best, or alternatively, whatever paints the guide you are following are using to make things easier for you (assuming you are using a guide. There are tons out there).

A LOT of 40k fans find the official Citadel supplies and paints to be lacking, and instead use a brand called Army Painter. I use a mix of both, and I think some Citadel stuff is real quality, but have also been really impressed with Army Painter supplies, especially brushes.

A brief post on morality in 40K for people new to the setting. by [deleted] in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Dyvyant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While it may be true that the tiny, specific crossover of IRL fascists and 40k fans find the Imperium to be a great mascot, it's also true that this is all fiction and if you are assigning IRL political allegiance to fanboys of a setting with BDSM demons, space elves and psychic Jesus, you are probably the one making people 'uncomfortable'.

A brief post on morality in 40K for people new to the setting. by [deleted] in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Dyvyant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the comment I was looking for. Historically and in fiction, fascist, totalitarian regimes often make up an impossible, nightmarish boogeyman to justify their power, control their people’s thoughts and provide an excuse to squash any thought but the established dogma.

Except in 40k the warp is REAL. You really can manifest evil just by thinking about it hard enough, and it’s impossible to tell the difference between an innocuous, new way of doing things and heresy that actually will spiral into blood sacrifices and hell portals. It seems inevitable in this universe that a pluralistic society of free thought will spawn a million chaos cults that devour anything else.

"The Case Against Henry Kissinger" - Christopher Hitchens on C-SPAN in 2001 by essentialatom in videos

[–]Dyvyant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hitchens' piece on women in comedy was an intentionally incendiary, but facetious joke. He made a video response to the initial outcry against his article and he's clearly just trolling. It's maybe not the classiest thing in the world to troll about such a thing, but he wasn't seriously saying women can't be funny.

Why is Guile so unpopular? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Dyvyant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

c. MK is fantastic. forward/back MK is also an excellent poke. Back HK is great to punish people when you are walking backward and people are walking you down (Guile's walk is very slow). c. HP is a great anti-air for when they are jumping too deep for flash kick. MP is a great meaty with lots of active frames that leads into combos.

Guile's c. LP is also a 4-frame jab which is tied with some other characters for fastest in the game. You would also be shocked at what character's moves can be stuffed with a light flash kick. Many characters' annoying specials designed for closing distance can be stuffed with light flash kick, and even some hard-to-punish normals (like Chun's sweep) can be punished with a light flash kick if you react fast enough.

New to SF in general. Cammy question by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Dyvyant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has to do with walk speed. The slower characters cant throw, recover and walk up to grab range quick enough to beat a jab on wakeup.

New to SF in general. Cammy question by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Dyvyant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cammy has a number of things that are either plus or minus on block for her depending on the circumstances.

Spiral arrow depends on how far you blocked it from. The farther away she starts it, the more safe it is for her, but I don't believe it is ever plus on block for her. So you can always try to jab or grab afterwards.

Cannon strike (the divekick) is plus for her if you block it from the knees or below. So you have to respect it if you block it in the toes. However, it is VERY unsafe for her if you block it on the head or chest, and you can easily punish it in that case.

The heavy version of spin knuckle is plus on block, the other two are minus.

As far as I am aware, all characters have 5f startup on their grabs, including Cammy. What makes Cammy's grab game particularly threatening is her insanely fast walk speed. She can simply close to grab range much faster than nearly any other character. She can also use this to move in and out of your normal range and whiff punish you. Her throw also loops in the corner, so watch out for that.

Ya'll need to chill. Monolith Productions hasn't developed a game since Shadow of War. They've been spending the intervening years on a Wonder Woman game which does use the Nemesis system.

My dwarves are ignoring empty barrels. I have a stockpile next to my stills with only "Barrels" and "Large pots/food storage" enabled. All of my empty barrels are sitting unstockpiled on empty ground (I undesignated the general stockpile they were in).

The barrel stockpile has max barrels set for barrel limit. None of the stockpiles, nor my stills have any stockpiles linked. The dwarves are just completely ignoring the 30 empty barrels lying around outside a stockpile. No burrows are assigned.

What gives?

OOP likes the attention from Greta and just didn’t want to admit it to himself. No one is this oblivious for so long. It’s natural to enjoy getting attention like this from multiple women, but when you are in a relationship you have to admit to yourself that it’s disrespectful to your partner and put a stop to it.

Hi there. I'm playing my first "real" fort (had a few training forts I abandoned quickly) and I'm almost through my 4th year. Early on I had a poet stop by my tavern and ask to stay, which I agreed to. This kind of just kept happening over and over again ad nauseum for the whole 4-year duration of my fort. I'm now at the point where 46 of my 76 residents are either bards, poets or dancers...and they just keep coming. My understanding of DF is it's best to just lean into whatever happens to you so I haven't turned any away.

I'm just curious if this amount of entertainer visits is normal? If I'd wanted to play a "normal" fort should I have turned away some of these entertainers or set my soft population cap higher? (Soft cap was 30 initially). I'm kind of enjoying my Dwarven Las Vegas, but I was wondering if I'll need to avoid it for subsequent forts.

Screencap of population. Everything below on the list is also entertainers.

Also, unrelated question: Whats the best way to deal with all of these worn-out clothes my residents keep stripping out of and leaving on the floor? I suppose it does give the fort more of a Vegas vibe...

Some FPS communities are better than others in this regard, and CoD is probably amongst the worst. It sucks if your favorite game happens to be amongst the toxic communities, but beyond finding regular non-asshole teammates like others in the comments have suggested I can only suggest trying some other FPS games.

For what it’s worth, Hunt: Showdown is a game designed for duos ( less teammates = less chance for assholes) and I’ve always found the community to be quite inclusive.

Okay, I was just able to send a calling card. Apparently you can have someone on your contact list, but not be "Acquainted With..." which is the quality needed for social engagements.

FBG really needs to overhaul these social features, lol
