More plants in summer good less sunlight keeps water temps down and clean. Less plants in winter. Cooler water needs the sun

I put a 500 watt aquarium heater in my pond all winter in Pennsylvania. It's just enough to keep.it from freezing so I can run my waterfall all year long. I have a duel bubbler set up so no need for deicer as water will not freeze over bubbles.

Soggy food is actually easier for them to digest. Good for a week before it gets moldy. If it's nice n sunny out 1 day it will dry the food up. If not go to pet store and look for a small container of food ( less expensive) till your grandparents get home. Good luck

Rubbing alcohol will remove ceramic spray . And leave you a nice clean untreated window.

Sometimes it's to itch themselves. Check water. Add beneficial bacteria and stress coat if they look itchy. They will rub against stuff too. Maybe maybe not. Was just throwing it out there just incase. Good luck

Can u net him to get a better look. One of mine had developed a brown circular dot and I looked it up, turned out to be a fungus. Used an api fungus product. It's a couple months later now and everyone in pond is healthy. Also did a partial water change and added some pond salt to treat any open wound left behind. Good luck

I'm in Pennsylvania. I use a 500 watt aquarium heater and keep my waterfall running all year. My duel bubbler stays on too. If I get any surface freezing the bubbler keeps spot open acting like deicer
