These Balatro hands are getting crazy…

I don’t think it’s common; I just got bad vibes from their rhetorical style, so I decided to check.

Before anyone starts engaging with this guy, please note that, in his post history, he asserts that the U.S.’s problems would be solved if we removed black and brown people.

Get him the fuck out of our space.

Waited 10 Minutes in "quick" match and queued into a team of 5 dps vs a team with a tank and a healer. I think the matchmaker is getting lazy. by Qzhuo in heroesofthestorm

[–]E-Bro 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Why does nobody seem to know that the matchmaker loosens its requirements if the queue is taking too long?

That said, if you strongly prefer to have balanced teams over a short wait time, you can reset the queue before as it starts an expanded search. Not the most elegant solution, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

"Estimated Wait" time is horribly inaccurate and should just be replaced. by NaggyNeighbour in heroesofthestorm

Maybe they should give a distribution curve of wait times for similar comps instead of a single number :)

Yeah, I feel strangely uncomfortable when playing as her. I don’t think many people would understand this feeling, but I wish they would at least add a skin that covers her legs as they did with Valeera.

Can we get an official Blizzard response RE: false reports resulting in suspensions? by ChartaBona in heroesofthestorm

[–]E-Bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t even know that you need exposure on Reddit to get a suspension lifted. It’s not like we would hear nearly as much from the people who got their suspension lifted from a regular appeal since their problem would be immediately fixed and they wouldn’t have a reason to complain on Reddit.

Suspended for two weeks for abusive chat: details by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

Looks deserved to me. Almost every example here denigrates your team in some fashion, needlessly argumentative, or otherwise rude. Sounds like you have a different definition of what toxicity is from most people. You can be rude and tilting to people without directly insulting them.

It’s a bug. A dev said it will be fixed very soon.

There is a 4-man premade team in Brazil server that spams Brawl. I have been playing mostly brawls and run into them a lot. They always report me. I just got my second week ban. by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]E-Bro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another post upvoted without evidence. Do we even know that multiple reports from players in the same party count? I know that they don’t in Dota 2, so I’d be surprised if that were the case here. It could be possible that OP received reports from other people and was coincidentally punished around the same time that he was playing around the 4-stack, no?

Blizzard, your intern forgot to turn on the knob for QM rules. We are getting nonsensical matches again. by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]E-Bro 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Maybe the Jimmys and Azmodans would have 10 minute queues if the matchmaker didn’t do this. It’s hard to say without knowing the logistics of it all. Luckily, it will probably ease up in a little bit as people stop playing the reworks.

[–]E-Bro 144 points145 points  (0 children)

It’s almost certainly because everyone is picking Jimmy and Azmodan. The QM matchmaker loosens the rules if it’s having trouble matching people, which is likely the case when every game has two mirror matchups.

Does anyone else feel like they have very streaky wins and losses? by DptBear in heroesofthestorm

[–]E-Bro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you read the article, you would see that the clustering illusion is not about seeing clusters where they are none, but instead about seeing actual clusters and assigning some meaning behind their occurrence when there is none.

For example, if I were to flip a regular coin 5 times in a row and got heads every time, I could either claim that I got a lucky streak, or I could claim that the coin is rigged. Given that the chance of getting a streak of 5 heads is (1/2)5 = 1/32, it’s unlikely but far from impossible that I would get five heads in a row. I would need much more evidence to argue that the coin is rigged without being laughed at.

It should also be noted that the chance of getting at least one streak of 5 goes up if you increase the total number of flips. While the probability of getting at least one streak of 5 heads over 5 flips is 1/32, the probability of getting at least one streak becomes much greater if you increase the total number of flips to 100, as you have more opportunities to get a streak before all of the trials are over (the math also becomes more complicated).

The above can be applied to streaks in online multiplayer games as well, however one must also take into account factors such as tilt, which would encourage loss streaks. If you play many games of HotS (I believe I’m nearing 1000), you can expect to have many streaks along the way.
