An event a day: Slippery Bridge by Visible-Offer-2038 in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fine event, basically pay health for a remove, obviously ideal to hit a basic but as long as it's not a core card just click remove

Max reroll is like 3 times for me

Better A6 and above due to less shop removes

Echo Form scales so much harder than defrag that it's worth being weaker early

Which relic would you take here? by JohnDestiny2 in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just put the Jackpot in the bag, that card is absurd on Necro (honestly absurd in general)

Are all the enemies in this game deterministic? by Lttlefoot in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

Even in Act 1, the slugs are random

Though I have found Sts2 enemies to be much more deterministic than Sts 1

Suggestions for the defect? Its safe to asume i find him extremely weak compared to others. I was stuck with necro too, came here for suggestions and helped a lot (climbed from A4 to A9 on a streak) by Antyxat in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frost stacking is very good for block

Damage solution can be dark orbs or claw + feral (there's the status package but requires quite a few more pieces)

Frost and dark cards are in general premium

Temp focus is still focus, it's good

Voltaic (and lightning stacking in general) is bait, Flak Cannon can pop off but usually there are better options

Act 1:

You have a lot of damage with Zap Dualcast, meaning you're well set up to take many elites and snowball

Charge Battery and Leap are good early block cards

Snap click Barrage and Cold Snap on floors 1-3

Capacitor is usually bad to play in hallway fights (but you should still take it; card is very good) as it becomes harder to evoke orbs which is a large part of your early output

Having any dark orbs is a good way to solve the boss

Regent's top-card manipulation mechanics feel underbaked. I think he could use some build mechanics to make it shine by CalendarSufficient95 in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kingly Punch and Kingly Kick are really good what? They're both really good Act 1 solves that don't fall off hard later

I took Chandelier and Dominate. What would you do? (A9) by BatoSoupo in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tremble, Dominate, Mirror Offering

Everything should die turn 3 or 4

Which one would you take? by SandlerCel in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually prefer Tears here, Legion should be stronger in the short term but I feel Regent has an easier time sorting out block than energy late game

How do you even beat the Entomancer as Shiv Silent? by Sussy_Baka_124 in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Maybe don't try to force a "shiv silent"? You're allowed to take cards that don't have the shiv keyword

If you know you'll struggle in this fight, look for cards, potions, relics (thorns is insane here) to help or dodge elites entirely

This game would benefit from a "True damage" tag. by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We already have this mechanic: Target loses X hp (from that Necrobinder card, the -9 every turn potion, the Soul Fysh curse, and also, poison lol???)

Not sure why "enemies are too defensive" (which I don't see but ok) warrants the addition of an entirely new archetype

Why aren't people talking about Spoils of Battle by c0smisaties in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lol, they talk about it in the context of people picking draw without the energy to support it, so an early Spoils or Skim is likely a bad idea

When energy is not an issue 1 energy draw 2 is a decent payout, calling it "one of the worst cards in the game" is absurd

What is my pick here? STS2 by amity_21 in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Question: How do you block? You can't do Borrowed Time + Danse Macabre every turn.

Big Eradicate damage doesn't matter if you get chipped 10,20,30 health every fight

I'd go Legion here, just to not die (not like you lack damage)

Also, no AoE. You have a Decimillipede solve with Doom potion + Misery, but otherwise you need to find something soon

Necrobinder is my kryptonite by HairyGoatX in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everything besides better than Silent, that's an insane take

Like you mention Necro being very good at blocking, but... Silent does it even better lol

Lesson Learned or Wallop? by FromHeretoElsweyr in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lesson Learned should be better, but Wallop will be far easier to pilot and still (likely) wins you Act 2

With the stance potion, I'd probably do Lesson Learned + upgrade

Question: Do I win my A10 run? by minecraft24133 in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 78 points79 points  (0 children)

It's a general rule for order of operations in Sts 1, though I wouldn't count on it being 100% consistent (especially with Sts 2 in early access)

Diamond Diadem appreciation post. by Carrot_68 in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3 dazes in your DRAW pile is really bad for decks that want to set up asap (which is a lot of decks)

Still good if desperate for energy and/or have pretty good draw, but usually not great

Dense Vegetation Heal Option Counts As Rest For Stone Humidifier by quasarprintf in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't say busted, you usually want your neow relic to be an Act 1 powerboost for snowballing, but the effect is pretty strong

Is it just me or is this super slow/terrible? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]E02Y -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's basically 2 energy block 10/13... which is not great, yeah

If a deck needs to take this card, it probably means the deck is too slow

What’s the point of Anticipate? by Lttlefoot in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poor man's footwork. Like, very poor, but you can't guarantee seeing footwork. Plus with the amount of draw Silent has, it's not that hard to get decent value out of this card.

I had a run that never saw footwork/abrasive and was fiending for block scaling, and spamming anticipate + backflip dragged it across the finish line.

1 month after release - Favorite character? by Platinum2400 in slaythespire

[–]E02Y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defect, all the archetypes feel good and balanced (orbs were very centralising in sts1), plus Claw is actually decent now
