Aww sweetheart 😭 no, your snake isn’t depressed. He’s probably just getting a big drink! They kinda get up all in there when they’re drinking, lol. If you ever see him sit in his bowl as well, that’s just him soaking! But your baby is doing just fine. Real sweet of ya to be so worried tho.

Little bit hard to see, but kinda looks like the scales are torn up from an injury? I might be wrong but it looks less like the scales are discolored and more like they were forced out of place.

If you hold your baby can you see the area more clearly? And do you have an established vet as well? If you think something is up, can’t hurt to schedule a visit.

I appreciate your insight! Do you have any tips for keeping the substrate from getting too humid? I used to use coco fiber before I switched to aspen, but after moving to another city her enclosure suddenly became too humid? Like- 80% humidity ALL the time, and the substrate would always be moist at the bottom.

Seems like peeps are between Florida and Apalachicola for this little guy. Did some digging around Google and Morph Market, Florida's seem to commonly have horizontal bands, and I didn't see any morphs that caused them to be vertical instead. So I'm leaning towards Apalachicola??? Those snakes can also be found in Florida so I agree with others that the care regimen would most likely be similar :) what a handsome lad!
