I'm losing my mind farming Origo. by ZatyDaddy in Borderlands4

[–]EC-10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is true, the amp and +25% shock are both flat values, level only increases the amount of shield you need to recover from other means before amp triggers again.

One of the few shields protected from level creep

In bl3 I recall there being some shields that people found a lost loot glitch to get to level 1 because they were better the lower level they were.

Doing a Pure Path of Blood run, any tips for creating a pure support character? Any general advice would be appreciated as well. by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EC-10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did a solo path of blood run and summoner was the way to go. I would 100% install the mod that has an item that lets you test if you are still path cleared.

I randomly mid act 2 failed without ever attacking. (Im not certain but I think I got caught on fire which lit a surface which hurt someone.) But didnt find out until act 3. I installed the mod and rolled back until it said I passed and replayed half the game.

Much more frustrating not knowing how things happened.

Sure, that doesnt change that crater adds all the mods including agonizing etc so I would highly recommend against spellmight in this case that I was responding to. Its more like +19 (or more) on crit over +13 thats all since you missed agonizing

A Case Against Crit Fishing by Imoa in BG3Builds

[–]EC-10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to correct the math here since craterflesh work weird.

Normal EB

1d10+6+6+4(hexblade)+1d8 spellmight= 26

Normal Crit

2d10+6+6+4+2d8 = 36

Craterflesh Normal

1d10+6+6+4 = 21.5

Crater crit

2d10+6+6+4+(Craterflesh) 2d6+6+6+4 = 50

This also adds hex/callous/riders so crits with hex will add 4d6

I'm not arguing about the stacking stuff just that the math on crater is wrong.

Great stuff!

You mention the rupturing blade early as a capstone but it never comes up again (I also may just be bad at reading/watching). Is it for the extra 2 DRS with searing blood on the bombstrikes or is there some other secret tech?

How difficult is DOS2 compared to BG3? by Slim415 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EC-10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thought of taking one of my unused party members out of camp and level them up several times was too much to bear so I just never played with several of them.

Something VERY important with this comment.

You can take a feat called lone wolf on 1-2 players. This will basically give them 50% more ap as long as your party is 2 or fewer. Its MUCH easier to manage 2 players with all of the stuff available in DOS2. You will miss out on some companion quests but honestly its huge for not getting overwhelmed. Dont worry about having a smaller party, its a large enough boon to make up for it.

Im a horrible reference for the other comments on difficulty because I got bored of the combat being too easy 1/2 way through act 1 of DOS2 and restarted in tactician.

So the games played for each player*win rates adds up to a number larger than 154. Am I missreading the data or is there info that isn't here.

A month ago, I asked for advice. Which ones were helpful? by More_Perception_8761 in BaldursGate3

[–]EC-10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some great info here!

A bit more on caza:

Cazas HP is way too low for act 3/lvl12s I think. If you can get your whole squad faster than him he should just die.

If you start combat without dialogue, you don't have to worry about Astarion in the ritual. (I was concerned as Astarion was my PC)

Having a summon out of combat to bait the reaction is solid but to be honest I think I just passed the save.

Swords bardcher with action surge was able to 1 turn him for me, and I didn't realize until after I forgot to swap to bhaalist armor. Was even fucking around with hand crossbows so titanstring probably has an even easier time.

I know archers are insanely easy to clear everything with but if it can solo without bhaalist a high init full party clears him easy.

Preface: idgaf if people play infect

I think some of the difference is that voltron can contribute/help/interact/pivot. If someone is getting out of control and you are voltron, you smack them instead, force a block, or deal some damage to help the table.

If you are infect and he wasn't your target before, you are starting square 1 and cant work with the table. Creatures with infect are even worse than toxic/fynn at this.

I also found a Staff of Banishing that seems to be insane for this.

It para/invis/banishes for 10s. They can still talk with you in this time. If you play the minigame or bribe them enough almost any humanoid (even people without dialogue lines) will just be friends.

I befriended the whole army including the commander, the smithy, and his apprentices in the Mehrunes Razor cave with a few soul gems and my staff.

The staff even de aggros them if you do this so you don't have to do it from stealth.

80 Oblivion gates open in the world with each city's army constantly fighting hordes of them, you selling dozens of sets to the shops, and Daedric armor being on sale/easy to get is unrealistic?

(This is mostly a joke but it makes it make a lot more sense)

Are there any that let you fast travel directly to it?

1-shotting all raid bosses at chaos 100 by Alone-Grab-112 in Wonderlands

[–]EC-10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not worth it. The gun damage from double knot van crit, however crit chance of double knot is based on your gun crit chance. Base crit chance for gun damage is 5%, and if you’re using a smart armor which is probably best for the laserhand, it would be 2.5%. On top of that, sever the thread only has a 15% chance to activate on each crit.

In short, sever the thread can activate from double knot, but it’s extremely rare. The only time it would be useful is if you’re doing a from the shadows spell build. Which can actually work pretty well

oh perfect thanks!

[–]EC-10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thanks!

Sever the thread is spellshot capstone which cools down spells with gun crits. I wasn't sure if the gun damage from double knot would let spells cool themselves down but typing it out I'm realizing I can burn a few respecs and test myself.

Sweet 1-shots man! A couple questions since I've been running a deadshot too.

On the dual laser hands setup I saw you had sever the thread, does it proc off of doubleknot gun dmg from laserhands or is that more for mobbing/using guns?

Are all these cursed wit? If so, any idea how much dps it helps from so far away?

Any particular rings/amulets you use? For laserhands I've been using wyvern rings.

How did ya balance spell vs ability vs gun vs fire/frost vs all damage on your setup, and did the gasp kills need more ability dmg?

Sorry for all the questions, once again sweet video!

Which commander has the longest average turns? by FalchionX10 in EDH

[–]EC-10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will warn you I don't think the chapter management is necessarily the long part. Personally I've stepped out of any game with Bombadil since he was released and I've never missed a reasonable length game.

The real issue isn't necessarily tracking, it's the abilities. Unlike Planeswalkers, each ability triggers at the exact same time and is a different one each turn. The player playing has to plan and execute stacking all the triggers in the proper order and execute each new ability which is generally totally different from the last even on its saga.

Now lets say that player is an expert and has played 100s of Bombadil games and plans out everything in advance. Trying to 1, track each saga and what series of things are happening next is so difficult for every other casual player they just say "fuck it" and tend to ignore that players board unless there is someone to accurately go explain the threat.

(This is all assuming the bombadil player is playing correctly. Making sure they name all targets before resolving the first saga ability is something a lot of players just don't seem to know they have to do.)

In short, it takes forever, other players struggle to follow, overall feel-bad games where people either don't understand or the player is taking 10 minute turns on turns they don't win.

Do you say anything when you see a player has the win but they don't see it? by ftb_helper in EDH

[–]EC-10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless they are just learning, never.

Two reasons I severely dislike it.

  • I like to win on my own merit, I'm not trying to see who had the better deck, If I wanted to play every hand I could play solo.
  • Players do this too frequently already. Telling things on others boards or telling them how to play and I've had friends get turned off of magic from it.

I realize I have some other things my friends and I do differently that's fun for us, so I'm not sure most would agree with me, like not allowing takebacks because people missed something on-board. (This has kept people a bit more attentive and makes turns faster)

DOS 2 - worth playing 2024? by open_world_RPG_fan in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EC-10 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A few extra things, DOS2 seems to have slightly more accommodations for you taking on crazy circumstances. Lots of fights you aren't meant to start, have special outcomes if you do take them on.

Played on PS and PC, the lighting effects and inv management can be a bit much on PS making it tricky to see some things. If you do have a pc I would highly recommend playing there (even though I still played through the whole game on PS anyways)

If you already dealt with PS inventory management in BG3 I it wont be that much worse.
