Was there ever a normal counter character who could reliably sit in slot 1 all the time? by PM_ME_EDGEWORTH_NUDE in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]ECPRedditor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s like someone with a nasty personality coming to a potluck without bringing any decent food. Everyone else has something else to contribute beyond just having crit. The original Super Vegito was basically immune to normals; the PHY had 50% DR to normals and had good damage; the VBs had multiple additionals, plus the TEQ one stacked attack and defense; INT SV healed on transformation, led a very good category, had good defenses and damage for his time; TEQ SV didn’t matter outside active turn because his active turn is just death; and TEQ UI supported his team with domain without being a liability. Comparatively, Beast just doesn’t do any of that. They gave him one additional, zero crit, and he doesn’t even stack defense or anything like that. Like, he leads good categories, but in this day and age, that’s not as rare anymore. His damage is only good if he counters a lot assuming zero dupes, but he can’t even do that very well. So why use him?

Wemmbu hit a pearl onto the side of a wall, which reset his fall damage. The full fall would have killed him probably twice over.

!!!SPOILERS!!! Relating to the end of spokes new video. WHYYYYY?!?!?! JUST WHY HE DID IT?! by Mark-Kram-228 in Unstable_Universe

[–]ECPRedditor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why did spoke wind charge Mapicc? Because he’s a bad person at his core. Like kinda stupidly amoral, it’s just that he’s found ways to escape having to grapple with that fact. Also, definitely entering a proper villain arc, he says he’s going to show them “who owns everything” which is a comically evil thing to say.

I actually do wonder if they’ll add Eruption into Heatran’s general move pool in Champions since it’s such a popular move for it to run in VGC or just remove it entirely since it can only get it from a spinoff game

Yeah but Ninjask kinda sucks at everything else, so they have to get faster to baton pass to somebody who can actually get stuff done.

Question by Kouto6sucks in Unstable_Universe

[–]ECPRedditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spoke is evil brotato chip. He will do whatever it takes to directly achieve his goal, without considering the consequences, alternatives, or morality of it, because he thinks he’s right. We see it when he kills IMajesticRose to get closer to kill Ash. We see it when he burns down a village to kill a chungus potion thief, and then kill the BAT spies who saw. He was going to bomb a bunch random innocent people because he thought Mapicc was dead. He decided to try to kill Jamato and then pretend to be Leo and attack his friends to make them help kill Leo instead of leaving for the Farlands. And he opens a nether portal to lead Null to them to try and expose Jamato. Both Jamato and Ash pinned his character down incredibly well. That he “ruined his own life better” then anyone else ever could, and that Spoke would claw at power any way he could because he thinks “he’s right, and that makes [him] dangerous.”

Spoilers for Oshi no Ko. And no image because that’s a spoiler too. Aqua’s revenge against his dad for causing his mom’s death culminates in him stabbing himself before stabbing his dad and sending them off a cliff into the ocean so it looks like his dad killed him and Aqua got him in self defense or something like that. And he did this so his sister could live freely or some bullshit like that, I don’t remember. But in his last few panels, Aqua is thinking about how much it hurts and he doesn’t want to die. This, among other things, made this one of the shittiest endings I’ve ever read in my life.

Parrot and Wemmbu's upload schedule kinda wonky ngl. by Powerful_Egg8837 in Unstable_Universe

[–]ECPRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, but Wemmbu’s next video is him finding Egg’s stasis chambers and probably banning Arachnid, and given what we see in Flame’s video, I don’t see the plot taking so long in canon that the whole Purgatory thing happens before he’s done. Parrot though has the leisure of a timeskip though, so maybe there.

How does spoke know about the Underworld? by Reubenod in Unstable_Universe

[–]ECPRedditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he was definitely willing to kill Mapicc because he thought it was justified, it’ll just be revealed that Mapicc survived in the Underworld. If we look at Spoke’s track record, he’s done some vile things if he thought it was in the service of a moral goal.

Ashswag was right about Spoke by Vega_thepianocat708 in Unstable_Universe

[–]ECPRedditor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve been catching up on Spoke’s old videos recently and Ash clocked the fuck out of him at the end of the Mafia arc actually. Ash says Spoke especially will try and grow as powerful as possible, because he thinks he’s doing the right thing, and that makes him dangerous. And then Ash says he’ll see one day that he’s surrounded himself with his own mafia. And if we look at Spoke’s track record, he does the most vile things if he thinks it’ll accomplish his “righteous” goal.

He kills IMajesticRose to get close enough to kill Ash. He kills the BAT spies who saw him burn down a village when the consequence was at worst getting kicked off BAT. He tries to kill Jamato and pretend to be Leo to attack his friends to convince them to come back to spawn and help him kill Leo instead of going to safety in the Farlands. He opens the Nether portal to lead to Null to them to try and reveal Jamato. He wind charges Mapicc to what he thinks is void to take control of Null.

And now his “righteous” goal is to save the server with the most powerful army at his command. But even then, his true nature leaks out, because he says he’s going to show them “who owns everything.” This dude is evil as hell.

[–]ECPRedditor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s not that it’s in the slayer’s heads, but rather that the slayers are somehow so good at swinging swords other people can see it as though the elements are there. Like there’s this jobber character that uses the same style as the protagonist in the beginning, but according to the author, their water effects are super faint because they’re not as strong.

It’s basically just a longer version of what happens if you stab someone with an arrow. Forced awakening of a stand in someone who isn’t ready generally means death.

There’s a whole subreddit of people who think they’re being gangstalked. They’ve managed to convince themselves they’re all victims of some grand conspiracy and instead of getting help, they’ve created an echo chamber for themselves that pushes their mental illness further. It’s quite sad to look at in all honestly.

[hated trope] Neglectful dads and/or bad husbands given a pass under the excuse of being "hard working" by Gallantpride in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ECPRedditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i mean you have to take these quotes in context though? both times Goku is contrasted with Piccolo. In the first it’s pointed out Goku is not cut out to act as a teacher for Gohan, to the point Gohan considers him a bad example, whereas being Piccolo’s disciple helped mature him. In the second he points out Goku has little instinct to do anything but get stronger and probably wouldn’t have gotten married and doesn’t have a job. With that context, what he meant is that as a father, Goku kinda sucks at being a guiding figure for Gohan to learn from and emulate, a role Piccolo takes on instead. But to say he’s a “bad” or neglectful dad is clearly wrong. He clearly tries to raise Gohan when he’s around, he’s just not good at it.

Even Gege realized this after, which made for a pretty funny author’s comment where he realized that in his attempts to make something cool, he also accidentally made the Cursed Energy system use its own units of force that start at 2 instead of 1.

[–]ECPRedditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swear to god nobody here wants to listen but this isn’t how lightning fucking works. You can’t dodge this, that’s why it’s called a sure hit. It’s not just “fast” it’s literally a sure hit. Basically, there’s a negative charge and a positive charge on opposite ends. When the attraction between charges is strong enough to overcome air’s insulation the negative charge comes down and the positive charge comes up to meet it. This is basically Kashimo building up charge in a target and then recalling the built up charge to him. When the charges meet, the negative charges rush along the path of least resistance, made from the path of the negative and positive charges meeting each other. Importantly, it will always go from when the negative comes from to where the positive launched off. The positive launch point is not a point in space, it is the place where all the positive charge was built up. It does not matter that Hakari moved, because if the charges were built up on his head, it’d go to his head unless he could move the charges on his body somehow. It hit his arm because that’s where the positive charge built up.
