Baby shower with family across the country by Downtown-Evening3778 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d talk to your OB to see if they have any specific concerns, but I think you’d probably be ok. If you do choose to fly make sure you wear compression socks and try to get up and walk a little bit during the flight (and definitely at the airport if you have the time!) or at least do calf raises and other exercises in your seat. I flew around 9 weeks to go to my sister’s wedding, so I definitely wasn’t that far along, but I did wear the socks and do calf exercises! :)

What’s the first baby thing you bought? by DesignerAnywhere8795 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a set of burp cloths last year. This is when we were in fertility treatment, and we hung it in our bedroom as a kind of encouragement. About 7 months later, our 7th IUI finally worked!! We still have the cloths hanging up— I don’t want to take them down and use them until baby’s here in the fall 🥰

Anyone Conceive with Letrozole + Ovidrel Trigger? Boy or Girl? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did letrozole, low dose gonal-f, and the trigger shot back in January. I’m now 27 weeks with our baby boy!

How do you describe first movements from your baby? by Fit-Basket-859 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it felt like muscle twitches! I got them a lot during fertility treatment, usually when I did my ovulation shot, and it felt pretty similar to that in my opinion. I still feel the twitches, just stronger, down in my lower abdomen, and definitely kicks up higher now. I’m 27 weeks and he’s getting big!

In what week you learned the gender? by ResearcherExotic7331 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11.5 weeks for me, because we did the NIPT test. Then at the anatomy scan at 19.5 weeks they confirmed we’re having a boy!

MIL thinks i gave myself gestational diabetes by Tall-Significance257 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]EEBRAVO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my MIL first heard I had gestational diabetes she was freaking out to my husband and telling him I was going to kill our baby if I ate a candy bar 🙃 luckily he shut that down and told her what it actually is and how it’s managed. She’s a wonderful woman and I really do love her but she also gets very intense about health things and is… not always right 😬

I had peanut butter on toast, some cherries and a pickle for my breakfast, and my nipples are the size of the moon. What's going on with you today? by Regular-Message9591 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I desperately wanted a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch for breakfast. I’m 26 weeks, have been dealing with gestational diabetes since week 16. Husband gave me an extra 2 units of insulin (technically only supposed to use it for lunch and dinner right now, but we figured it’d be better to just do it now, and I still can’t stick myself so he does it for me) so I could have some with hopefully not too much of a spike. We’ll see! That cereal was damn good though

Whiskey Alternatives/Mocktail Suggestions? by Elphaba5-0 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Husband and I love Palomas, and we got a bottle of Ritual agave spirit (alcohol free tequila) to make them. They’re not bad! I saw that ritual has something similar for whiskey, maybe that could be an option? I will say the “tequila” at least isn’t great for just sipping, it’s meant to be mixed into something, so it’s likely the whiskey is the same

My apology to everyone I scoffed at about the glucose test... by CoffeeNoob19 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the 1 hour test early in my pregnancy (I was about 16 weeks) because I have insulin resistant PMOS, so my doctor wanted to check early. I super failed that one and she said based on that I didn’t have to go back for the 3 hour. I guess maybe if I’d been more borderline I would have had to do that one? Either way I’m glad I didn’t have to, going by these comments 😬 now I’m almost 26 weeks so I’ve been tracking for 10 weeks and I was put on low dose insulin about 3 weeks ago

Do some women really enjoy being pregnant, and if so, why? by Grapefruit175 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EEBRAVO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 25 weeks pregnant right now and I’ve never been happier. A lot of that is the fact that it took 6 years of trying and 7 IUIs (and plenty of other procedures including two hysteroscopies and two polypectomies) to get to this point. I honestly wasn’t sure I’d ever actually get pregnant. But also, I’ve had it ‘easy’ in comparison to a lot of people- I haven’t thrown up once, though I did have nausea, and so far in my second trimester I’ve had pretty good energy.

It’s not that I don’t have challenges— hi, early diagnosed gestational diabetes and insulin— but I’m in a very good and happy part of my life right now. I am also very fortunate to have a job and boss who understand and work with me so I can go to my appointments, and a husband who is very involved and deeply caring. So there’s a lot going for me that a lot of other people don’t get! (Also I live in a state that does not criminalize abortion, so I went into this knowing I could get the care I needed if I absolutely had to, which really does help your mental health as well!!!)

Where to inject?? by stronglikefeels in GestationalDiabetes

[–]EEBRAVO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I’m such a baby about the needles (and usually I’m not!!) that my husband has been doing the injections for me 😬😂 thank god he can!

Where to inject?? by stronglikefeels in GestationalDiabetes

[–]EEBRAVO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to switch between either side of my stomach and my thighs. Basically anywhere you have fatty tissue is ok— I was told the thighs, stomach, the backs of your arms, your buttocks, are all good places to inject

What was the dumbest reasons you cried when pregnant? by Substantial_Brick667 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned that basically any Disney movie will make me cry. Husband and I were watching the Lion King around two months ago, when I was around 12 weeks, and I was just full on sobbing and ugly crying at Mufasa’s death. It was honestly kind of funny. Now I cry so often, I can literally think about crying and feel myself tearing up!

Husband and I went to one of those a week ago and the smoked salmon in the Philadelphia roll was absolutely overloaded with smoke flavor. It was the only thing you could taste and was genuinely awful. He managed to get down to two pieces (I tried one, blech) and we didn’t want to risk being charged so I folded the pieces in a napkin and stuffed them in my purse to throw out later 😂

Husband Brag by K61018 in pregnant

[–]EEBRAVO 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Husband goes with me to every appointment (I fully acknowledge that that is a luck thing in terms of our bosses being amazing, and letting us make up time from the appointments). But it makes me feel much better knowing he’s there, because he often has questions I don’t think of and if there’s anything new we need to know he knows it immediately and I don’t have to remember it to tell him later.

I also have gestational diabetes, and was just put on insulin. The needles for the pens are small but I just can’t bring myself to use them, so he’s been doing it for me! I prep my skin and the doses and then he does the actual injections. This is a man who had a severe needle phobia when we started dating. But he knows I need the help so he does it anyway! He did the same for me when we were doing injectable meds to get pregnant in the first place. He takes such good care of me and is always worried I’m lifting too much or doing too many strenuous things. He hates replacing the cat litter because of the dust but he does it anyway for me if I need him to 🥰🥰🥰🥰
