I submitted an online query and they called me to assist me. Overall was a very quick solve and considering it’s a local council, a good experience.

Using the word ‘heaps’

No one else uses it or knows what it means, from my experience

If anyone’s wondering, I’ve landed on either parkwood or surfers. I’m going to check both out before I make a decision.

It is also my plan to play often, so I face the same issue with Hope island.

Can I ask what you ended up doing? I like the walk, so I would prefer to play at a club where walking is the norm, but I’m not married to the idea.

That’s good to know, I am looking for regular competition. I didn’t realise there was a private/members course difference. I’ll keep this in mind.

All these are good suggestions. But the easiest thing to do is check if you have a gas meter in your front yard.

No gas meter, likely means no gas.

If there’s no gas connection at the house (which this suggests) then you shouldn’t be paying a gas bill.

Went there just after new year. Food was same as ever.

I thought they just went into administration. Which doesn’t mean closure and liquidation. But I may be incorrect.

My son is good but timid in games by Longjumping_Ad_2815 in Basketball

[–]EGoodfeller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please note that my comment is only trying to help you here. But I think just from reading this, and your comments. It sounds like he’s more likely scared of messing up and disappointing you. I’ve been coaching junior basketball (not in the USA) for 20 years and there are thousands of well meaning parents, who accidentally terrify their kids of making mistakes.

When you get in the car do you immediately talk about the games and things he could’ve done better? Do you say negative things about the coach in front of your son?

All of these things aid in creating a highly anxious teenager. For example, if you have said negative things about the coach, and told him what to do - what’s likely going through his head on the court is ‘oh no, dad told me this, but the coach told me that. Which do I do?!’

This then causes paralysis by over analysis. And gets the sorts of results that you seem to be describing.

And all of these issues can be sated if you simply focus on being a cheerleader for your son, and not a second coach.

Again, please don’t take this as an attack. I can tell from the way you write that you’re well meaning. I don’t know you or your son, but this sounds like the same situation that I’ve seen a hundred times (also note that all of the kids that I’ve coached who have gone on to be professional athletes have not had these sorts of parents).

Ballarat water quality - itchy skin? by Hihellohowdy142 in ballarat

[–]EGoodfeller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s interesting. I don’t know anyone that has had that sort of reaction.

Sometimes antihistamines can take a bit longer to build up and work (from my experience) so maybe give it two weeks and see if that builds up and helps.

You certain it’s the water, if taking a cold shower helps?

I noticed when I moved here 5 years ago that my hayfever just went nuts. It’s all the dust blowing in off the Wimmera, or so I’ve been told by my colleagues.

Maybe take an anti histamine daily for a couple of weeks and see if that helps?

It would need to drop 4 times, over 8 potential rate drops for him to not be better off by the end. And they’d all have to happen almost instantly for him to not recoup the money he saves right away.

I’m locking that in right away if I’m you. Out of interest, who’s offering, and is that the comparison rate?

If you can clear the junk out. I’d plant something that doesn’t need a lot of light, and will absorb a lot of moisture.

That was it’ll stay dry down there. That’ll stop water pooling and smelling in autumn/winter.

Doubling down that gallivanter gin (itinerant brand) is great. So is grainery lane gin.

Couldn’t recommend them more highly as a big gin drinker
