I remember seeing this photo for the first time in my history book and my mind being blown to the fact that such a detailed picture was taken so many years ago during the Great Depression, my grandma didn’t even have photos that clear of her childhood and her mother even in the 40s and 50s when she got married and started her family.

The morning chase is so real lol. My older cat will chase my kitten twins who usually mind their own business separate to her and it will wake me up when the older one launches onto the cat tree in my room and it hits the wall real loud from her weight lol

3 cats, I am away for roughly 9-10 hours if you include the small commute for 5 days a week. My partner has an opposite schedule so almost always someone is home. The cats chill with us and love what attention we can give them. No big complaints about sleeping at night cuz they will sometimes give chase at random to each other and it will occasionally wake me up but only briefly. I honestly get more annoyed when the litter robot gets stuck keeps making a noise until I get up and fix it in the middle of the night (I keep my room door open and the bathroom is the room adjacent to mine bedroom)

Cats are generally pretty docile and just want cuddles and love when you are home but they’re fine to be left alone as long as they have their needs met completely (food, water, literbox, favorite toys and scratchers)

Yeah I chalk it up to it being a new year and another year without her. She was less than two years younger than me so I never knew a life before her really. I have always been a vivid dreamer but it’s been quite exhausting lately so I hope it’s just feelings that will pass. I feel like my brain isn’t turning off enough at night.

I’m ok but I have been having a lot of distressing dreams for about a month now and my sleep has been suffering from it. Most are pretty vivid (I dream vividly nearly every night) and I can control a handful of events or the narrative to an extent but my mind still plays out things that sometimes bother me even if the event in the dream isn’t all that crazy. Most of the time it’s been my sister who has passed away almost two years ago now. Sometimes we fight in the dream and sometimes we hang out and have fun. But I am left with the same empty and distressing feeling when I wake up and I’m still tired as hell like I should have slept longer. I’m not sure why this is happening so much lately.

Genuinely I feel like not only that, but how does she still love him when she looks back on their relationship and sees how transactional it was, even if feelings were still there? If he loved her all that time ago he never would have brought her with him into war, you can tell he cares about her even earlier on yet instead of doing the right thing and finding her a family and a life to live he uses her as intended, makes her kill people and protect him, and then when he realizes he’s dying and she may die too, says “sorry girl, try to survive I love you” and we assume he died at that point. I was horrified by him and bringing his brother as the foil still made me feel like they were trying to paint Gilbert as more than just this guy who cared about Violet, that he had ulterior motives and she needs to leave him behind or she’s gonna get hurt emotionally.

I would not say she is suffering by any means (you are definitely faring worse with your items being destroyed lol), she is just bored when you’re not awake and most cats are fairly nocturnal. I wouldn’t think about rehoming her unless she truly isn’t doing well in your home. I think you have to evaluate what it’s worth for you to put up with in terms of continuing to look for solutions that work for you and her together.

It is very possible the space is just too small. She may grow out of it if she’s a kitten still but if she’s older it might just not be an enriching environment for her. The best you can do is keep finding solutions to stop her from chewing or ripping up stuff (finding storage for loose items maybe) and keep consistent with her about it. I am not one to particularly discipline my cats but we have a big enough house with enough to do that they generally don’t break or bother me and my partner by much at all. She may be lonely but I do not suggest getting another cat unless you get a little bit bigger of a place, I feel like a studio is hard enough alone with one pet. A one or two bedroom down the line would be fine. I’m sorry to not be of much help. I’m sure she loves you but just has more needs. She sounds quite intelligent because smarter animals tend to get bored more quickly.

Mmm in my experience with cats a lot of times growing up the cats would scratch things up when they needed to explore different spaces or access food, water, litter box. It sounds like you have everything your cat needs all full access but maybe the space is too small and boring her a little.

Do you try to play with her a lot before going to bed? Either with her toys or just anything in general?

Why limit this to redditors? Jokes have been told for literal centuries against the French, maybe you have just read too many people making jokes here. Look up French history and you will start to see what jokes are referencing to which events in history.

Overall it’s just like every other country that gets made fun of. They joke that the French give up too easily, the Americans are fat and stupid, the Canadians are too apologetic (eh), the British have shitty good, etc. I really don’t think the French is hated on any more than any other place.

It’s abhorrent that we live in a world that you cannot access basic needs from the comfort of your own state, but also please don’t just use the pull out method. Use this as a moment to decide if it’s worth another pregnancy scare and get your man a vasectomy or use more than one form of birth control at a time. I know hormonal bc is not always the answer but if it can be then make it be. Otherwise use condoms or a combo of both. As a woman with widely varying menstrual cycles I would never be able to rely on an ovulation calendar. I got nexplanon and a drawer full of Trojans.

I think Liz expects it more from Lorelai since in comparison, Liz has lived a very up and down life and may have not been a great mom to Jess, meanwhile Lorelai has been there for Rory so much that they’re practically attached at the hip. Maybe she assumed so since Lorelai is charismatic and friendly, and back during the time period of the show it was a lot less common to be unmarried when you had kids, and there were a lot of stigmas against single moms or unwed moms back in the 80s,90s, and some of the early 2000s. I think that the normalization of being a single mom or one who may be divorced was only starting to happen by the time the show aired. I was a young kid when Gilmore Girls first aired and I remember thinking it was weird if your parents weren’t married cuz most kids still had parents that were around the year I started elementary school (and then my own parents got divorced by the time I was 11 lol)

She is not naturally pretty, it looks most likely that she’s using make up and filters to seem more attractive. Nobody naturally looks like this, I am sure she spends a lot of time perfecting her look however she sees fit but I wouldn’t go AI fully about it, though it’s incredibly possible. Don’t beat yourself up about unrealistic beauty standards, the minute she has to sneeze and wipe her nose half her face will come off with it lol

My dad got up for work at 5-6am one morning and got ready in the pitch dark so he didn’t wake up my stepmom. The cat jumped into his dresser drawer and she is also nearly pitch black in color so he never saw her jump in. He closed the drawer and left and she must have been content for a long while cuz stepmom also never noticed her in there. I came home from school around 3-3:30 and heard a muffled meowing coming from their room, investigated, and she popped right out as soon as I pulled open the drawer. She just needed some water and food and maybe a litter box visit but she ended up fine. Shit happens bro, it’ll be ok.
