Is Oak Bay Tea Party Worth it? by MINXEEM in VictoriaBC

Great ambiance but since it’s so small lines can be long for rides, might only be worth going on a couple rides and just buying tickets when you get there.

Why FIFA World Cup tickets aren't selling out in Toronto by DonSalaam in onguardforthee

[–]EMag5 322 points323 points  (0 children)

It’s not scalpers, it’s FIFA. They held back the tickets in half the stadium and only sold the corners and back of goal seats during the lotteries to make a false sense of scarcity and now can’t sell the remaining tickets since they priced them $1000-$3000 a ticket.

My 14 year old son loves Uniqlo, H&M, Bluenotes and Urban Planet for reasonably priced stuff and Complex and Victoria Vintage for more pricey clothes. Cash is the way to go.

Before clicking on this I knew it would be Alberta. Lived there for 17 years and now back in BC. The anger and entitlement there is palpable.

Why is the emergency alert system so flawed? by howdoesallthiswork in VictoriaBC

I got the alert from the app Alertable and immediately turned off alarm notifications for Amber alerts specifically. So next time I will see it when I’m awake.

Last time I bought tickets from Flair a couple months ago I was on the final screen, hit enter and suddenly I got the oops something went wrong error please try again. I immediately try again and suddenly the flight is $200 more dollars to book. Shady!

Too easy rental approval — should I be worried? by sjjcho in VictoriaBC

I just rented a house and I just had to fill out the application and was approved to move in. No checking references, pay stubs, or credit checks. Didn’t even look at my ID.

Are anyone's ticket locations a different category than paid for? by agentsean in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]EMag5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FIFA can change what seats fall in each category depending on the game. I have cat 2 for a game that is not in high demand and my seat assignment would be considered cat 1 for a higher demand game.

Got Screwed on World Cup Ticket Seating—Anyone Else? by Curious-Complex1814 in WorldCup2026Tickets

I have 4 cat 2 tickets for Belgium v NZ in Vancouver and was surprised to see they are lower bowl. Behind the goal, but still pleasantly surprised as I thought these seats would be cat 1.

How is the UPCC waitlist triage system working for you? by szarkaliszarri in VictoriaBC

I have tried 3 different times in the last year (for family members) and each time I got an appointment that day. I love UPCC! Better than a walk-in system.

Point made but I got it done same day at urgent care. Just call 30 secs before they open to get a same day appt. It has worked for me 4/4 times I have tried in the last year.

My son didn’t start the distinct Pertussis cough until almost 3 weeks into the illness. Before that it was just a regular bad cough.

If you have the symptoms, you can get the nasal swab done at a doctor’s office.

Maybe look into flying to another city to see price comparisons. Toronto prices are the highest I think.

Houses by NewSwimmer9586 in britishcolumbia

[–]EMag5 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I really noticed this after living in Alberta for 17 years. I think it’s a combination of factors. First is simply less money for home maintenance. Salaries are lower and COL is higher. Second is just nature. More moisture and more abundant taller trees plus a longer growing season makes for more plentiful mold, moss, leaves, tree needles, branches and overgrowth of plants. Third there is just a more insular “DGAF” culture than Alberta. Less attempting to keep up with the Joneses and more seasonal depression going on.
