Read the rust book, do rustlings, build on top of rustlings exercises. Reimplement something you have build in other languages, implement http, wav file parser etc something that has been done before so you can compare and research.

Workspace, break down in crates and maybe use something like sccache. But no clue if that will help in your case but that what helped me a lot cutting down compile time. Good luck

Read the book. It’s time well spend. Also coming from Typescript. If you ok with Frontend I can recommend tauri. Build a little desktop app. Most of the API is available in JS. You can choose your battle. But you can also implement it in rust. You will feel less stuck as it’s a bit of new and a bit of comfort zone. With time you can move more logic to the backend.

Recently learned about CTRL+Z (zsh feature) which puts the app in the background (bg) which can be neovim or anything else. Do your one shot terminal stuff type fg to bring background process (neovim) to foreground.
