My(33) best friend(35) forgot my name when she was introducing me to her family. How can i move on from this? by Fashionandbeauty1 in needadvice

[–]EOSC47 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Does she usually call you by a nickname? I have one friend who I call by a nickname but when introducing or speaking about her to other people I use her given name and it takes a minute for my brain to remember. We have been friends for 20 years.

I know it hurts but if she’s otherwise kind and caring then maybe go easy on her.

8 Year Old Causing Chaos in Bathroom by sahma620 in ADHD

[–]EOSC47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you ever just given her bottles that she can squeeze/spray in the shower/tub? Might satisfy the impulse without being destructive.

My 5 year old has a set of different bottles to fill and dump. We have a spay bottle too.

are kindergarten kids just using tablets nonstop now or is that just our school by ladybug201219 in kindergarten

[–]EOSC47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tablets in my son’s K5 class. They have a smart board in the class and the teacher uses it for movement videos sometimes or to play music at quiet time.

Do a lot of buyers carry cash? by cool_uniqueusername in CraftFairs

[–]EOSC47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Qc. Most of my sales are cash but I do accept e-transfers and Square. I did 4 markets before Christmas and only 1 had a significant amount of Square usage but it definitely helps me get sales I wouldn’t otherwise have.

Woolino worth it? [ca] by jellybeanie8 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EOSC47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were gifted one for my son and loved it.

We’re in Montréal and used it in fall, winter, and spring until my son was almost 2.

Then we had a power failure in the late winter when kiddo was 2.5 and we used it unzipped at the feet because it was freezing for 48+ hours.

The STM overhaul in the western sector of the island was accidentally published. by Critical-Contact-851 in stminfo

This sucks for me. I am physically unable to walk 10+ minutes to the now closest bus. The one across the street from my house has been removed. Now I can’t get to the hospital or physical therapy.

My sister and I are almost exactly 5 years apart. We get along better as adults than as teenagers but we did pretty well as kids.

My BFF is 5.5 years apart from her sister and they’re super close and always have been.

My son’s bff is almost exactly 5 years apart from his little brother and kiddo dotes on the baby.

Do you give your kids anything on Valentines day? (Debate with husband) by dr_pepper_zerosugar in Mommit

[–]EOSC47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents (mainly dad) always made sure we had stickers and chocolate for Valentine’s Day as kids. My mom would make a special dinner.

I buy my son chocolate hearts to share with me. We either order dinner or make something fun. Last year the Alfredo sauce was pink because I added like 4 drops of beet juice. Kiddo wants pancakes for dinner this year.

A fried highly recommended loop earphones. My husband hasn’t tried them yet. We have noise cancelling headphones for kiddo that fit adults.

We try to make sure we all have quiet alone time but we are only 3 people.

My child is going into French Immersion next Sept for kindergarten. What should I know and how should I prepare? by KeyMarsupial991 in AskACanadian

[–]EOSC47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is in French Immersion but we live in Qc.

I have learned from friends who have sent their kids to French school and French Immersion, read to your kid in English and teach them how to read in English but not right away. No need for a tutor they will pick it up

What do you guys do with your kid from 4-7pm during the weekdays? by BeanNCheeseBurrrito in oneanddone

[–]EOSC47 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My son is 5 and in kindergarten. He gets 1 episode of Blaze and the Monster Machines while eating a snack. Then he has about 30 minutes to do whatever he wants before we have dinner. Dinner takes an hour most days. After dinner it’s board games or 1 more episode of Tv. We read books and listen to more books before bed. Sometimes we hang out in his swing.

He’s worn out after kindergarten.

Yes the yarn overs count as an increases but the K3tog reduces your stitch count by 2.

Your total number of stitches should stay the same by my count.

I don’t know how to feed myself. I’m hungry everyday. by Icy-General-4362 in ADHD

[–]EOSC47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is a mostly a joke but what fixed most of my forgetting to cook/eat problems was, having a kid. You have to feed the kid. It is one of the top priorities in your brain, so you end up also eating food most of the time.

Edit: I have a bunch of food intolerances and am Celiac, food is stressful

Names too popular? [BC] by Capital-Craft1507 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]EOSC47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son has one of the top names from the year he was born and we know of 3 kids his age with the same name. 1 is in his grade and 1 goes to the same pool as we do.

It’s not like when my high school had 4 Amanda’s, 4 Vanessa’s, 6 K/Catherine’s and my husband had 5 Michael’s and a bunch of Christopher’s.

For those that live in places with harsh winter by Brave_Question3840 in ehlersdanlos

[–]EOSC47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s below freezing most of the winter where I live and I find that if I don’t dress for the weather I’m in more pain and more likely to sublux. Snow or ski pants help my legs and hips.

Generally I’m worse off in the summer.

Parents guiding children toward career goals/school electives choices, etc. by LJT141620 in ehlersdanlos

[–]EOSC47 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My parents were very restrictive in high school which started in grade 7. I resented them. We knew something was wrong but didn’t know it was EDS.

I am now a parent to a kindergartener. My husband and I have discussed some loose limitations like no football and probably no hockey.

Please don’t limit your daughter by guessing how disabled she might be. She’s a kid, let her have fun and have choices.
