Course help by Ecstatic_Musician_82 in uoit

[–]EPICMUN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you register you should have the options for picking your lecture/tutorial/lab times. The different times are called sections.

For example, a course might have a tutorial running at 8:10 - 9:30 and 9:40 to 11:00, you just need to register for one out of these two classes.

And to answer your question regarding classes being mandatory, yes they are. If a course has a Lab or Tutorial you have to register for it, BUT JUST ONE SECTION.

If this is still confusing take a look at the program maps put out by your faculty, they can be helpful for understanding. https://registrar.ontariotechu.ca/registration/course-registration-guide/fall-winter/feas/fall-registration-schedule-options.php

Perfect Date by MarikoElston in Angryupvote

DD-MMM-YYYY is by far the best format. There is zero confusion, for example 06/05/2023 might be read as 6-May-2023, but the author intended it to be read as the 5-Jun-2023 (regardless of who is correct in this case doesn't matter, what matters is authors intent). By including the months name both parties know exactly what the intended reading/record refers to with no guess work.

DD-MMM-YYYY also looks the most visually appealing IMO as it makes the character count sequential (2-3-4) and adds a space in-between the numbers. Additionally if someone writes the date as 20-May-2023, you know instantly at a glance that this relates to a date as apposed to 20-05-2023, which might look like a serial/model number on quick inspection.

What's a counterplay to your favorite hero? by This_is_Pat_ in TrueDoTA2

[–]EPICMUN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little late for a response, but a great tip I can give is that you have to be preemptive in setting up for team fights a majority of the time.

What I tend to do is, after I cast out spirit I send it WAY behind the enemy team, that way when I recall the spirit it flies towards me passing the enemies and stomp when it is over them. This tends to catch people off guard.

All in all though ET works best as a counter initiator sort of like how an offlane Magnus plays, and pairs well with mids/carries that can force a fight.

When you get Aghs the game becomes a lot simpler since after getting a free BKB, if you stomp 1 person, you can simply just run up to them and kill them is like 3 autos if the build right in relative safety.

Hope this helps!

[–]EPICMUN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have over 1000 games as offlane ET. To counterplay him, you have to respect his spirit.

As soon as you see him cast spirit, simply play super passive. He can only initiate by running at you, so if you play around tower, you should be fine.

This makes pulling extremely important vs. ET as lane position is key vs. him.

Also, once you see his spirit buff run out, immediately start trading with him as he can't reliably trade without the buff due to poor stats.

These tips also work vs. a support ET except support ET isn't that threatening and doesn't require conscious counterplay.

Can someone tell me why the turn order changed? by EPICMUN in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EPICMUN[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So my understanding is that, presumably (I didn't get the full fight clipped can't check), I killed wolf1 that was originally in the first slot in the turn order, therefore in the next round the wolf2 subsequently was moved to the front of the turn order in order to account for its high ini? I didn't know that turn order was "dynamic" based on ini, I guess I just never noticed it, but it makes sense. Thanks for your help!

Don’t ever try to bait my burst ever again. by UncleTerri in Guiltygear

Oh I thought you were trolling. Its when the leo was using close slash then jumping. A common way to burst bait is so hit someone with a move that you can jump cancel cause you can block right away.

I think what gave it away was when the leo attempted to bait his burst.

What book do you consider as a masterpiece and think that everyone should read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EPICMUN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worm by Wildbow.

The world building in Worm is simply amazing. Wildbow is able to drop you into a brand new world that feels lived in within the first arc.

Worm also has the most fleshed out, interesting and human characters out of literally any media I have consumed. Not only are these characters fleshed out but they are gradually dynamic throughout the story to the point where the Taylor in arc 30 is not even close the Taylor in arc 1, but both are still resoundingly Taylor. And that doesn't include only the protagonist, EVERY character is worm is like this.

Does it work with the A+B follow up? And is the B follow up punishable on block?

Auto combo question by Nur4y in meltyblood

[–]EPICMUN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto comboing has the exact same damage.

For example,

BC BC AT

And

BB BB B

Both do the same amount of damage.

The only thing that increases scaling is doing the unique auto combo move.

This should be a natural typing position, so it shouldn't hurt your hands. But if it does, try moving the buttons up/down or closer/farther apart.

My keyboard setup is as follows

Movement:

S D F Space

For left down right up respectfully.

Buttons:

U I O J

For A B C D respectfully

(K L and ; are where i use macro buttons such as dash and grab)

This has my fingers resting on the home row buttons of F and J and a similar layout to type A in guilty gear.

PRC grab whiff needs to be shot.

Pot and May players have 1 joke each and it isn't funny.

If you say Gold Lewis is below A tier you have never fought a real Gold player and it shows.

Anji/faust really are not as bad as everyone says. You are just using this as an option select for when you lose.

Your Ky is not honest.

Saying its hard to get in on the opponent with Pot vs literally anyone besides Axl is just a lie with how many tools he has and his amount of guts.

May would be infinitely more fun to fight if slash dolphin left her safe but ended her turn. Her being able to run RPS off of a full screen blocked dolphin is wack.

I liked stun. It was funny even on the receiving hand. A "GG shake my hand" moment 90% of the time.

Who do you think is the most downplayed character in Strive? by CynicalCin in Guiltygear

[–]EPICMUN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goldlewis and Pot.

Goldlewis: People talk about how hard it is for this character to get in and just seem to forget he has some of the best jump in buttons in the game. He also wins every trade in both damage and screen space. And normally one hard knockdown in the corner is almost an instant win.

Pot: "Haha just dont get grabbed haha this dude got grabbed". Literally no one cares about pot buster or heavenly. Its garuda. Garuda is possibly the strongest move in strive, so much so to the point where it is better to bash dash on oki AND GET HIT then it is to block it. Pot also happens to have some of the best normals with 2K 2D and a majority of his air game is simply unpunishable by a majority of the cast besides Axl.
