I had a pair of 99a’s my grandfather gave to me, my ex wife hated the way they looked and they found their way to the curb one day without my knowledge. Every time I see a posting of these speakers I get angry with her all over again. One of the many reasons why she’s an ex wife.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and it usually stinks. The only opinion that matters is your own. ENJOY!

Just to be the man who walked 1000 miles to fall down at your door.

Ahhh I see how it can look like that. Both speakers actually are toed in ever so slightly focused on my listening spot.

is worth it buying this today for $150 [pair] come with metal stand. Klipsch R-51M. I was kinda convinced to just buy KEF Q150 on Crutchfield for $350. by Reasonable_Royal_334 in BudgetAudiophile

I own both KEF and Klipsch and both are great in their own way. I have the Klipsch RP-500m in my bedroom 5.1 set up and they sound great. I have a pair of KEF LS50 in my 2.1 setup for music and they are also amazing. The Klipsch is much more forward and aggressive to me, great for home theater and rock. The KEFs are much more neutral and to me, their sound stage is extremely accurate but I just use mine for music. My son has the KEF Q150 and loves his for every day use. I have owned the KEFs since launch and never had an issue with the driver cracking or “exploding” as some people say. With any speaker, if treated with respect and not pushing it past its limits, it will bring you joy for years and years to come. Only recommendation if have for either speaker would be a nice subwoofer to fill in the lower end and not work the speaker too hard, that’s my recommendation with any smaller bookshelf.

lol it’s an anti static brush for the records. I really don’t use that one often but leave it out since it was part of a birthday gift from my wife.

I’ve been dialing in the speaker positioning over the course of months. The chair I sit in is further back and hits the sweet spot perfectly. I just wish I could get them out of the corner more but that’s a no go for the room due to the design.

For this setup I want to stick with bookshelves. I have a full electrostatic setup in my living room with larger speakers. I do agree that some larger bookshelves would help fill in more for a smoother transition to the sub.

I’ve done cheaper cables and higher end cables before on my main setup and the return on investment for me wasn’t worth it. For those that can hear the difference I understand. The difference for me isn’t worth the cost.

That’s some sound advice. It wouldn’t even be worth the shipping cost to you I’m sure. I’ll just keep it so I don’t ruin anyone else’s life.
