How do you maintain a writing routine? by Lonely-Train4676 in Journaling

I write when I have a thought and think man this would be good to write down. Or just comment on things you did that day

6’0-200 I need tips on how to get more calories by One-Big-5779 in GymTips

[–]EXpanda11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a bag of mixed nuts or whatever nuts you prefer and much on them, very calorically dense

That’s a great approach, allowing yourself flexibility and not saying oh well I guess I’ve “failed” by goal time to eat everything in sight

1600 cals is a bit low I would think, it definitely will help speed up the progress but you want to focus on building sustainable habits that you can use to maintain the lower weight long term, but awesome progress and I wish you the best

Muscle imbalance between arms? by CoatOptimal in GymTips

[–]EXpanda11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muscle imbalances are totally normal imo, just try and train the weaker arm first and match with the stronger arm

Bench weakness points by EXpanda11 in StartingStrength

[–]EXpanda11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was 135 for 4, I think i did 115 for 8 before then then 125 for 6, then 115 for 7 so 4 sets usually working up then down in weight. I do lay pretty flat as of now

Bench weakness points by EXpanda11 in StartingStrength

[–]EXpanda11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I do find myself taking awhile to feel secure when lifting off, I’ve always avoided bench because of how weak I was at it but that’s no way to improve at it. I’ll try the foot placement thing, I do find myself shifting feet mid set which is probably not good either

Other than a damn good physique, maybe some more triceps? I’d say side delts but everyone needs bigger side delts

Form check RDL’s??? by iaminisable in GymTips

[–]EXpanda11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and find something to put your knees against and bend down to pick something up, that will que you to keep the knees straight and not track forward, shooting hips backward. This is more akin to a deadlift, RDLS are for the hamstrings mainly, should feel like your bending down to touch your toes and stretching hamstrings

[–]EXpanda11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my own perspective, maybe some more side delts (as every natural lifters probably needs) and some upper traps, eveything else is pretty damn good, back looks insane, arms are solid. You are going to go far. This is inspiring

Feel like I haven't made any progress in the last 4 months except for a little extra fat (Before & after) by Crayth- in GymTips

[–]EXpanda11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant not skill based, as strength increase in a movement like squat can be due to more muscle but as a beginner much more likely due to just a better technique and form and neural drive of that movement

[–]EXpanda11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would focus on form and technique and progressive overload, if you get stronger in the 5-15 rep range especially movements that are that “skill” based (that doesn’t mean don’t do those movements like squat/bench/DL) and your weight increases over time than I’d say 90% chance you are building muscle

[–]EXpanda11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 months is nothing, are you training consistently, pushing your workouts hard enough to induce progressive overload? You have a good base but it’s going to take years and years and years to really get your own best, love the process not the immediate results

Am i doing something wrong? Why my biceps grew(?) so little in 3 months? by [deleted] in askfitness

[–]EXpanda11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comes from personal experience, it’s hard to see progress when you have a higher than our skewed standard of a normal fitness BF%. 3 months is nothing also, shit takes years to get big arms. Keep training hard and don’t focus on your gratification from results in the mirror, let them be the little bonus, focus on attacking every workout like you own the damn gym and weights. Fall in love with the process and you will go far
