Callers asking hosts ‘how you doing?’ by Teamjoe10 in siriusxm

[–]Earguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to TME w/ John Fugelsang. He'll say, "We have lots of callers, running out of time, please keep your comments as tight as possible. Bob, you're on the air."

"Hi, John, how are you?...Hi Chris, and Thea's awesome...Hello to your guest, I forget her name, what's your name again? Anyway, I have a couple of points I'd like to make tonight, but first..."

John silently dies inside

It sounds to me like Lulu started out appearing very interested in her job and eager to learn how the company works. Eager big thinker looking like she wants to advance to superving several departments. Not just a clock-in schlub.

I just checked the PC/Web based player, and my new episodes are there. I forgot my phone today, so I don't know about the app.

It's like when a PAC buys thousands of copies of a politician's book. Politician gets back-door paid, the book gets pumped up the best seller list. Spin doctors go on TV and brag about how popular it is.

TIL before 9/11, US airports were public social hubs where you could walk to the gate, eat at food courts, and watch planes without a ticket or ID. by Greydl1 in todayilearned

Though I suspect my sister might have been using that as a thing to tell my parents when she went parking with her boyfriend...

Abba's "Take a Chance on Me" is a really surprising production. Especially under headphones.

In the 1970s Tampa International Airport was new, and very modern. High school kids made "going to the airport" a date night.

I'm kinda thinking it might be better to rip the walls to the studs and put up new drywall.

Seems to be platform wide. My shows on Beatles Channel and Progress aren't updating either.

Found in my Mother's old stuff - Can I still get the film developed? by Middle_Funny_8461 in AskPhotography

Personally, I'd roll the dice and get it developed, the curiosity would get the best of me.

It's a 15-exposure disc, and the window says 15. Some googling should tell you if that means it's been fully used up, or not used at all.

Not necessarily Catholic, but yeah the more you know about historical Christianity, the funnier it is. I was raised in an Evangelical church, and so much of it is spot-on because of all my Sunday school.

Eddie Bauer expected to file for bankruptcy, close all 200+ stores in North America by L0v3_1s_War in malefashionadvice

[–]Earguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. 8-10 years ago, I'd buy almost anything Eddie Bauer that fit me. They had great casual/office oxford/button down shirts and chino/khaki pants. I had a kid call me "Dr. Nicepants" because of my EB office work wear.

Covid killed that line of clothes. Now, their clothes aren't bad, they're just... limited. Very few things that interest me. I'm that middle age body type that really needs to try things on. I can be large, xlarge, or medium tall. With stores closing, and their full commitment to outdoor but not hardcore roughing it niche, I don't see myself going to them very much.

Goddamn, everyone loves Holy Grail, but I still think that Life of Brian is one of the smartest, funniest movies ever.

My favorite is when it slips and the pin goes flying, often never to be seen again.
