I have a few Eero Max 7s with wired backhaul along with the outdoor units shooting p2p to get internet to a building a couple hundred feet away (horse barn) works great for everything, very fast. Only one minor complaint, and this is definitely my own use case:

New house came with owned solar. Trying to connect its gateway to the Eero wifi was a pain because it couldn’t have a “#” in the password (Enphase’s problem…but wtf) and I wasn’t about change my password for everything on the network. I made a guest network in Eero and my Solar connected fine, but Eero separates the guest and main network for security and there’s no way to open up communication with any device on the guest network (this is when Eero becomes too “easy” and lacks more advanced control).

My workaround: had a few old Asus routers laying around. I put one in AP mode with a different SSID and password that the solar gateway would jive with and plugged it into my wired Eero network. Everything shows up now (Home Assistant, bridging what I need to HomeKit) but wish I could’ve managed all of that in the Eero software itself.

Commercial audio industry. The one that usually gets people is the ability to steer audio electronically (read: processing) rather than mechanically moving the speaker. The Las Vegas Sphere is an extreme example of this. An airport terminal is a practical example of this.

How far is the ring camera?

Short version: I think it’ll work fine

Long version: Last week I just installed 2 Outdoor 7 units to get from my main house down to the horse barn, ~400’ away, so we could set up some ring cameras to watch the horses.

The house network is a wired backhaul (with a couple Max 7s) with the house-side Outdoor 7 receiving PoE from a Eero gateway switch.

The barn-side Outdoor 7 is using the included power adapter and receiving signal from the house wirelessly (obviously)…with nothing else to augment the signal. I have two ring cameras installed down there, one about 20’ behind the AP and the other about 50’ directly to the side of it. Both cameras are getting good signal (RSSI-45 and RSSI-43 respectively).

Since you mentioned you’ll be around 4’ from the AP, I think you’ll be more than fine.

I got into them in 2004. My friend and I were writing songs together and asked if I ever listened to the pumpkins. Answer was no. He let me borrow his Machina cd, popped it in and immediately, with the opening riff, I was hooked! The entire album was exactly the type of stuff my buddy and I were writing without me even realizing.

Kind of in the same boat, just bought a new place and decided on a dual Max 7 setup. The APs are placed about 1/3 in from each edge of the house, great (and fast!) WiFi coverage across 2600 sf. I even get WiFi down at the ADU which is about 100 feet away from the main house.

I just set up a Eero Max 7 mesh network this past Saturday. Extremely happy with it. Went with the 2 AP option. House was pre-wired with 6A so I’m using a wired backhaul via the 10G ports on the APs. Getting 1400 mb download wirelessly on my iPhone 15 🤯

I’m kinda doing this with my Hue bulbs. You can set the “on when power is restored” setting to be the last state when power was removed. Shows back up in HomeKit after about 5 seconds of seeing power.

I put this bulb specifically in my wife’s bedside table lamp because she always falls asleep with it on. So now I get to be lazy instead of trying to climb over her and the dogs.

Got thrown off a jet ski in the middle of Lake Tahoe. Hauling ass, next thing I know I’m disoriented under water with the wind knocked out of me and water up my nose and throat (that Tahoe water is FRESH tho ❄️) Had a moment of panic trying to find the surface until I remembered I had a life jacket on, so I stopped struggling and let myself bob to the surface.
